Looks like fun and I can't wait to try. I'll be looking for more knot vids from you. Thanks heaps! could never bring myself to pay 20$ for a book I knew most of the knots in already! And whoever went through and gave all comments a negative rating needs their butt kicked. So uncalled for.

Well, just more proof that "the words may change, but the song remains the same"!! When I learned this knot from my grandfather some 30 years ago, it was called the "Josephine knot", or the " figure-eight"... (because all the brocading on Napoleon's Josephine's dress were made with this knot)... if it is done once using the bends in the center of two lengths and the free ends run East-West instead of N-S, it is known as a "Celtic love knot"!! A good tutorial, though everyone does it differently

Very good question. The knot before the pretzel knots is a square knot. The white cords are the knotters and the red cords are the bead carriers. I apologize for not mentioning that.

does it work with any kinda of strings like yarn or thick thread could that work making it too?
@sbnks1513 жыл бұрын
@caramelbonbonchen I don't know if you order from Hobby Lobby in Germany online, but look there, they have hemp on their site.
@UtleyvilleHemp16 жыл бұрын
Well, you can use 2 pieces and double them up and tie a large loop...then cut that loop to have 4 pieces. It depends on how you want to clasp it. You need to have at least 4 strands to tie with. And it depends on the project and how many pretzels you want to tie. If I was going to do mostly pretzels for a bracelet, I'd want each strand to be at least 5 feet long...or 2 strands 10 feet long and fold them. This is probably much longer than needed and will have a lot trimmed off.

@julialou1998 no hemp is the plant fibers from the stem of the cannibus plant but usually from the sativas that dont get you high, mainly from the non bud producing plants. Hemp also can in no way possible get you high

@sbnks15 how to you keep the pretzel bracelet loose. I know how to do it but I end up unintentionally pulling it too tight and then it dosent look like a pretzel anymore.
@TaunadoGaming14 жыл бұрын
That could make a very intersting ladder.
@karastenberg251810 жыл бұрын
Those aren't carrick bends, they are double-coin knots. A carrick bend results in the working ends exiting the knot perpendicular to the standing ends whereas in a double-coin knot, the working ends (as shown in your video) exit the knot parallel to the standing ends. :)

If you look at the top of the video in the beginning, you will see a square knot. The left strands stay to the left, the right strands stay to the right. Take the 4 strands, split them into 2 sides, tie the pretzel.
