I'm curious if you would know how to do the tie that the crime lord Silco wears in animated series Arcane. I've come close but the knot leaves way too much material left behind and I have to fold some of it under my belt to prevent it from hanging loose

Attend a private school (expensive/posh/requires a tie) which forces me to wear a tie. 8 years ago I thought it was awful. Then I discovered Patrick Novotny and learnt that knots can be more fun than the standered Windsor. Oh and as an act of rebellion on the last day of the last school year we all wore a Finfroc knot to school. The teachers could do nothing - you have to wear a tie but nobody ever said you can't have a cool knot. Anyways, thought you may want to know. Keep up the good work.

What does the color of the tie mean? Red represents power, wealth, strength, and passion. Often they are worn by the office leaders or by some groups of people who need to be motivated. Blue is a calming color that means peace and balance. It is the best choice when you go to conversations where quarrels and harsh words are expected, since peace and balance should not be understood as a sign of weakness, but as perseverance and longevity. The yellow color of the Sun represents a positive atmosphere and vitality. People who have this color of ties usually radiate heat, and transmit their positive energy to people around them. Green represents growth and renewal. People who like to learn and increase their knowledge and skills often opt for a green color. Brown represents a person who is very grounded and real. Although many feel that one should have great goals and ambitions, a certain dose of sedation is always desirable. People who wear brown color are usually very reliable. Black represents a formality. It is often dressed in occasions and social events that require seriousness.

jesus christ, this knot require really long tie. even my longest is not long enough. still great job, use your videos a lot :)
@PatrickNovotny9 жыл бұрын
BiXis Thanks. This tie might be 60 inches. Most of my ties are between 57-60". If you are using old vintage ties they were made shorter then today's ties, then you might want to look for extra long ties if you want to do more of the braided style necktie knots.

Patrick Novotny can you make a video of this guy's knot? I'd love to see it too!
@Biber03154 жыл бұрын
Are you using a longer than usual tie? Those initial shoulder loops use up a lot of real-estate on the narrow end. Avoid this by starting from a four in hand knot.
@GrampaTracer_8 жыл бұрын
Do you have any suggestions on how not to end up short on tie length half way through.
@PatrickNovotny8 жыл бұрын
Longer tie or wear a vest to cover up the bigger end as you would start it short on your chest so you have more little end to work with. I hope that helps.

@BobTheHatKing7 жыл бұрын
if anyone has trouble getting enough length on the little end like i did, try usinga half winsor base instead of a full if you know what i mean
@Awesomesauce0096 Жыл бұрын
You know... that almost worked but I still ran out of length still haha! Really great advice
@BobTheHatKing Жыл бұрын
@@Awesomesauce0096 get some high waisted pants, you can get away with a shorter tie with those, and it’s a very classic look. Though you might need custom tailoring to get that these days
@bradydegroot51978 жыл бұрын
I've probably tried this knot with 10 different ties and I can never get it right. Are you using extra long tie? I run out of material prior to the last pass through
@PatrickNovotny8 жыл бұрын
+Brady DeGroot Regular length tie. It could be the thickness of the material that is eating up your length or perhaps you need an extra long tie to fit your body.
@bradydegroot51978 жыл бұрын
I was finally able to tie it! Instead of spiraling, then making the triangle, I just started by making a triangle. Looks good!
@elgoobero828510 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity, about how long is the tie you're working with? I love this knot, but it's so fabric hungry.
@PatrickNovotny10 жыл бұрын
Jose Sanchez about 60 inches. If you use a tie with a thinner fabric not like the one I'm using that has a satin finish then it should be less hungry with the same length tie. Great question Jose and thank you for asking.
@elgoobero828510 жыл бұрын
Patrick Novotny Thank you. I have the tie movements down, but none of my ties allow me to do the three loops. I make it to about two complete loops before having to terminate it. I'll just keep that in mind when shopping for a new tie. Again, thank you for replying.
