Some comments say it took a bit long. I however say that because you held each step for me to look at, I FINALLY could see and understand the "mechanism" of how the knot operates. I have only watched it once but feel pretty good that because I understand how the mechanics of it work (slides, shaping, etc), I have a higher chance of retaining it in my memory. I have NEVER tied a tie for someone (those I lived with all seemed to know how to!) but I am looking forward to wearing a necktie as an accessory to my outfits and so wanted to learn. This is the perfect knot. It's balanced so we get a perfect triangle. I have saved this video for years and I always watch it whenever I have to tie a tie. Usually, I tie it once and only loosen it a bit to take it off so it's always the perfect length and I don't have to tie it again. But sometimes, you do need to tie again (like you bought a new one or washed it). That's when you come to save the day!

Before I went to rx school in the 80's, i had my dad pre-tie 3 or 4 ties for when I ran into failure which only compounded my frustration when getting ready, especially if already nervous!

I come to your video every now and then, especially if I bought a new tie and want it to look just right or I feel rusty and need a reminder. Your video really helped me and a lot of other people.
