@@ManandDolly I shared this video yesterday with the young men who were helping me to secure the refrigerator and other large items into the moving truck. It was so easy for these teenagers to follow they had the items secure very quickly. And they were very appreciative of your video as well thank you thank you

I'm moving in two days by myself (using a U-Haul). This was the first video I found on Google using the search words "how to tie down a uhaul truck". I usually have to look at several videos, but this is one of those rare moments where your video covered everything with perfect explanations, clear and to the point. I'll go to Harbor Freight tomorrow and buy those 15 foot ratchet straps and do it just like you did. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us!

Such a money video. Thanks for showing this in great detail. Definitely doing ratchet straps and no bungees, ropes, or cam buckle straps. Everything loosens with movement. Moving yourself is tough, but videos like this make it possible. Thank you

You did everything correctly. Its easier if the ratchet is closed to put the strap through.

Tie down straps are the way to go instead of using ropes. Get the 15 footers. If you haven’t used them before, get a set and figure how they work before you really need to use them.

Doesn't it slip back and forth with braking and speeding up if there is heavy cargo like couches and mattresses?
@ManandDollyАй бұрын
Not as much as you would think, most of the moving in the truck come from bumps, sudden jerks of the wheel, and fast turns. This is why it’s important first and foremost to have your truck packed tightly, with every layer tight from side to side, and front to back holding it in place. Straps are perfect for if you have space at the end and can’t put an item there to hold it back from moving, or a strap is there to keep an item from moving to begin with. Does that make sense?

Thank you , what length straps are those? 10 or 15 feet? Would 10 footers work?
@ManandDolly Жыл бұрын
You can go straight across with a 10ft strap, however, I always recommend getting 15ft because you can go diagonally, plus the length gives you more versatility to use for other things and situations like as a tiedown for a pickup truck where you have to go over a load of things, as well as it gives you extra length for when you're strapping items to a dolly like a Refridgerator or a big dresser that length comes in handy. I hope this helps and look forward to more questions and engagement with me.

I us 1 foots soft loops its much easier with those rails
@ManandDolly4 ай бұрын
Soft loops could be easier, but it's not a big enough difference to pay for the extra convenience. That's a good thought for sure though, in my eyes it's not a worthy investment just to tie back a load. I would invest if strapping down a motorcycle to a trailer or something of the sort.
