*Perfect and I’ve used it for ballon arches as **enjoyable.fishing** recommend well as other decor with parties. It is strong and will hold up well. It works so good that another decorator stole my roll at an event!*

My dad taught me this knot when I was a kid. The only thing he did differently was that he ran the tag end back through the loop twice instead of once. Don't know what difference this makes, but I still always do it this way simply because it reminds me of him. He was a fantastic fisherman. I'm sure that he is now catching some whoppers in heaven.

I use that same knot when I use plastic line. But, to finish it off. I put the tail end through the top loop, after I already put it through the bottom loop, and pull it tight. I do that extra bit for a more efficient knot.

Yessir, that works too.

Hey bro thank you very much for the tutorial, I’ve struggled with knots my entire life especially fishing knots… I have issues with my small motor skills meaning I struggle to manipulate small objects and it’s hard for me to make very small accurate movements like typing or TYING KNOTS for example LOL. Anyways I was able to do it thanks to this video! Thanks again. If I had one piece of constructive criticism it’s to record the video with your hands in the same way I’m looking down at mine right now, instead of recording it in reverse which forced me to turn the video upside down on my phone. Happy fishing 🎣 y’all!!

Good old clinch knot. I don't use it anymore. I will use the improved clinch, where you pass the tag end through the gap created when you pass the tag end through the loop, if I am using 50lb test braid for my catfish rig. Good video.
@ConsummateSportsman9 жыл бұрын
An improved clinch will hold braid, eh? Good to know! I usually go palomar on braid rigs.
@stizan249 жыл бұрын
I use the Palomar when I'm fishing jigs, but I usually am using the Trilene knot. If fish 10lb braid conceded by an double uni knot to an 18 inch floro leader and a snap swivel if I'm using spoons or spinners. Other than those it is a Trilene knot.
@mitchelldietrich91019 жыл бұрын
Why wouldn't you just spin the hook to make the multiple wraps?

Feed the Tag end through the top loop and the knot will not slide (improved Clinch Knot). Nothing worse than a fish coming off the line from the knot slipping.

At first I was thinking “wow what an easy knot that I successfully executed” and proceeded to tie hooks to all of my 5 fishing hook. Just for them to be taken away by fish??? I did exactly as the video explained, the index finger in the loop and middle and thumb twist and turn. This was a failure. I have been let down ☹️ what will I do with my life now.. how will I recover from this?

I would suggest doing 1 additional step as i have used this knot for my whole life freshwater fishing. But i have only encountered this with braided line! The knot unraveled! I lost about a 20+ pou d blue car kayak fishing the knot literally came undone! I tie a knot in the tag end this will act like a stopper from the braid pulling i had it wrapped 7 times i am now in salt water and just use the uni knot, but atill for caution i still put a knot on that tag lineas close to hook as you can get it! Then cut access off!
@hmarfreespeech78762 жыл бұрын
Could you please tell me the brand and size of the hook you're using in this video.?
@TheBassfisher989 жыл бұрын
Great video! I have used that knot as long as I can remember! In my experience I have always found its a good idea to leave a little bit of trailer line at the end of the knot because after time passes the trailer will get pulled shorter and can if not long enough cause a knot failure.

This what we in UK call a half blood knot, you can make it stronger..after you put the five twists in, you pass the end through the loop nearest the hook eye, then...you take the tag end and pass it through the the loop nearest to your right hand,...lubricate and pull tight. Its called a tucked half blood Knot, I use it when I am likely to catch hard fighting fish like carp, perch or chub.

My dad tried to show me how to tie this fishing knot but I could never get it. Turns out I was pulling the tag end instead of the main line at the end 😅
