thank you! I’ve been able to manage that with standard wishbones, but the wishbone/bridle knots for rollers has been tough.

@@codyzeek7529lol 😆 I use to have trouble with the same thing but I've started getting the knot into the bands partially with a plier then cover it with My thumb for it not to slip bsck.out. then switch to a small screwdriver and push it all the was in. Works great.

Awesome work Chris! Some neat tricks, appreciate your wisdom mate. The small bore rubbers can be a pain but I think this technique will work well for them compared to entwining the bridle and load assist like the other way

WARNING! Make sure the materials you are using result in decent sized knots THAT ARE THE SAME SIZE as a regular bridle bead. The materials i used resulted in slightly smaller knots, which pulled through & exploded out of both sides of my rubbers on first load resulting in a nasty finger injury. It was my mistake, so i'm not having a go at Chris, its a great tutorial. It just should be mentioned to NOT use slightly thinner dyneema, & make sure your knots are bead-sized, so that they don't pull through. I hope no one else injures themselves like i did, right before a dive trip lol :)

Hey Tay, Sorry about the issues you are having. I have tested various thickness dyneema cord for making these knots and even thin line works. But 2mm dyneema cord, as you have pointed out is best. In my experience the two most common causes of failure are constrictor knots on the rubber not tight enough. (more common on thicker 16mm bands) And using silicon or lubricant to insert the wishbone. Plain water or saliva is best. Please let me know if you still have any issues.
@ThisIsTayzer
@ThisIsTayzer 2 жыл бұрын
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing Thanks for your reply man, good to hear your feedback! I had always used silicon lubricant to insert wishbones into my rubbers until this incident haha, I have never had rubbers fail before, but after this happened I figured that was part of the problem along with the small size of my knot. I've stopped using it now :) I ended up using a combination of your method above & incorporated some bridle beads, my rig has been working a treat! :) Thanks for all your knowledge you put out here for us mate. its much appreciated. keep it coming.

Hello chris, i have a timber dual. Center wheels are 4cm apart center to center. Side wheels are 7cm center to center. Using this method im thinking to tightening the center at 3cm to end up with 4cm width. And 6cm for side wheels for 7cm width. Is this reasonable thinking? Thanjs for the lesson.

Thanks Chris! What’s your thoughts on any differences between using shafts with fins, mini tabs or notches?
@CoatesmansSpearfishing
@CoatesmansSpearfishing 3 жыл бұрын
Big topic. Most guys just prefer std notches. Shark fins & tabs are stronger than where the cut in the shaft is for the notch, but some muzzles dont work so well with sharkfins and pinned shafts.

Another Great Video Chris. I am always thinking of the 1%ers (as you do) which add up pretty quickly and then efficiency or accuracy either decreases or increases. Whats your thoughts on the smoothness or hydrodynamics of the thicker dyneema cord (as you have just described) against using the plastic tube covering the smaller diametre dyneema cord method on the bridle.I like your method but thinking the larger diameter dyneema would have more drag thru the water when the gun is fired.
@CoatesmansSpearfishing
@CoatesmansSpearfishing 3 жыл бұрын
David, The softer dyneema folds flat easier than the plastic so my thought were that it would have less drag. This would be something to do a proper test on.

Possible to do a double uneven wishbone with a loop handle??
@Lukeveltman
@Lukeveltman 2 жыл бұрын
You can, I run my 1m and 1.2m rollers with double unevens with a 3-4mm braided dyneema handle. I just tie the handle In the same overhand knot as the two bridles at either end and tighten properly (that’s important) and melt the ends together really well before inserting. I haven’t had one fail yet.

How come the handle doesn't slide out? I thought you would have some knot to bind the 2 lines together.
@CoatesmansSpearfishing

Hey Tomas, when you burn the lines its forms a ball which does not pull through.

@@CoatesmansSpearfishing yeah I guess you will pull on it only until you can grab the rubbers so there would be not that much force. Nice. I will give it a try.
