Great question! This pattern is intended to be our anchor fly on a European Nymphing rig, therefore it is heavily weight so that you can fish it on a tight line with no split-shot. If you want to learn more about the technique we're always happy to chat about it!

A live caddis casing is tapered from the butt to the head .NOT the way your tying it?????
