Thanks so much! This was such a help, being a guy with long hair is annoying when the Himo gets tangled in the hair. The men feels tighter around my head and more secure, now, which is good. :D

Thank you for creating this vid. I find myself having a helluvatime tying my tenugui with my long hair... the tenugui always comes loose and I always have to readjust it. The second version you did I think is perfect for me. :)

Is my head just *absolutely* massive?? I can't get these tenugui to go even halfway around my head. Using the standard 35x90cm tenugui, is there a different size I should be using?
@xxxConanexxx3 жыл бұрын
Hello :) the one I am using in the video is 100cmx35cm. If these regular sizes don't fit your head I would suggest getting a 200cmx200cm piece of cloth from the fabric store (best are thin cotton or linen fabrics) and cut that to your ideal size. I think the lenghth of the Tenogui should be long enough to wrap it one and a half times around your head :)

Do you know how to do a style for pony tails? I saw many girls wearing pony tails at a recent seminary and I would like to go with that one. Thanks for sharing your tips!
@xxxConanexxx8 жыл бұрын
+Tanya Ortiz Well as shown in the video I make a low sitting ponytail right where your neck is ... but you could make a high Ponytail too if it doesn't bug you when your remaining Hair touches you neck (I personally find that very uncomfortable thats why haha). But I think everybody should try different styles to find the perfect way to wear it for themselves :)

I sometimes wear a high Ponytail and then just use the first technique (so you end up with a little bulge under the Tenogui and some of the remaining hair comes out below).

I am looking into getting into kendo, and I was wondering if you could help me with some questions? Being that we are both girls.:)
@xxxConanexxx9 жыл бұрын
Sure no problem :) What are your Questions?
@FinalShockMedia9 жыл бұрын
xxxConanexxx Well, I've been looking into it a lot, and I am in doubt of having the stamina and mentality to do it. How was it for you when you started?
@xxxConanexxx9 жыл бұрын
+FinalShockMedia Well you do need an amount of mental strength to do Kendo. Because you get hit and you also have to scream and hit other people. But you´ll never know if you are capable to do Kendo unless you try. I would just recommend to try it. And when you practice Kendo for a longer time your self esteem and confidence will increase as Kendo is more mentally and actually a fight against yourself. It´s all about surpassing your own limits.

Many thanks for this vid, I'm a greenhorn in Kendo :-) (even if I'm 45 y.o.) so over the practise I have to do, I have to fight with my long and messy hair. Can you suggest me the best way to fasten the second edge, to tighten the Tenugui? At this moment is the critical step...I often scratch my skin without a fine result :-)
@xxxConanexxx9 жыл бұрын
If your hair gets tangled easy (because you said it's quite messy) I would definitely recommend braiding it. Use more elastics if needed ;)
@leo170519709 жыл бұрын
xxxConanexxx thanks...but...you will not curl the hair and the edge of the Tenugui together when you do the last step?

what the tenugui in kendo for?
@xxxConanexxx8 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Bevacqua It serves as a sweat catcher and to reduce the 'pain' caused by the impact of the Shinai hitting the Men

xxxConanexxx what is sweat catcher
@xxxConanexxx8 жыл бұрын
Something to prevent sweat from getting into your eyes during practice. I'm sorry I don't know a proper word for it haha
