I'm a 5'11 PG in Sweden and I use the sky hook a lot in the post, a good thing to think about when you're practicing it is just imaging that your knee and arm are on a string, so lift the right knee with the arm, and keep the arm straight ALL THE WAY THROUGH to make it consistent. If you rush the move go for the backboard to get the bank shot. Love the sky hook and it's not just for the big men! admit it Alex, at 8:38 you were holding your breath hoping not to have to reshoot that.

The one thing that I think sometimes might not work is the sky hook, since you're exposing the ball on your other side another defender can steal it away. Will this happen?

The point of putting the ball on the outside of your body is to keep it away from your defender who is on the inside.
