He did everything by the book. With my truck I just hook strap lights and Dom he actually used safety chains

2:30 = WRONG! 1st you lift it, then you put the strap on and tighten it up. NOw when he pick it up, the strap won't be as tight as it is before lift. 5:37 WRONG! You run the chain from the vehicle over the slide pad, and into the hooks, and then let chain slack to back of truck like he has it. Good catch.

Chains are only needed for lomg tows. If I tow a car in a wheel lift and it's going a mile or 2 fuck this chains. Nothing is going to happen in a 5 minute eta.

I remember I was a little boy when my father had to have a tow truck tow his car to be repaired. And a word of reminder to everyone, make sure that your car is always serviced well and ready. If there are any warning lights on, take note of them immediately. Refill your gasoline before the low gasoline light turns on. If your car breaks down or runs out of fuel in the middle of the road or if you have to stop on the side of the road, it is very dangerous. Police officers and people have been killed from careless drivers crashing into them while they were stopped on the side.

If the battery was dead just change the battery. No need to tow it in. Especially to a dealer. If the car is still under warranty the tow is free.

I didn't see him put the light wire under the wiper blade, and is the hood closed properly? we lift the car first before putting on the tow straps.

How much per mile? In Michigan AAA is $7 a mile. So it should have been $105 for 15 miles. Unless their prices are higher in other states.

Usually when my battery does not start i figure out a way to get a new battery (like calling a fam member) or jump the car with friendly stranger or call my insurance. Is it different situation for electric cars or hybrids? More complicated?

Hybrids still have a 12 volt battery like a normal car. He could possibly have jumped it but tow truck drivers make commission and it could still have problems later so best to let the dealer sort it out.

Never drive without AAA!!! Free towing is 100% worth the membership price. THey likely could have replaced your battery right there on the street!

They just need to go up to the Plus or the Premier plan. It sounds like they live in a place, or at least were in a place where it was more than what the basic coverage covers (it’s only like 5 miles or something like that), whereas with the Plus, it’s 100 miles per year or 4 tows. With the Premier Plan, you get 200 miles and a rental car.

For your information: because a Toyota mirai is electric, the battery stopped working because it isn’t a good car to have due to its bad power that wastes battery quick and easy So I wouldn’t try getting one ;)

Only thing I don't like that he did was throw a strap on while the car wasn't lifted yet. I drive a wheel lift all the time and after throwing my L arms I raise then throw straps

You don't cross the chains on a self loader or conventional. You secure the chain around a control arm or strong axel. Then loop the chains around the hooks on the wheel lift itself. No need to cross
