Some extra info for ~ 8:10 : - When a stock's price drops below the limit price you set for a buy order, the order will attempt to execute. This can mean the order will execute right around the limit price you set, or at a lower price in *certain* situations such as if you have an open buy limit order and the stock opens the next trading day at a price below the limit price you set. The same situation can apply to the sell side where the stock opens at a price above your limit price. - The key takeaway is that, when your limit price is met, the order will attempt to execute. Sometimes execution occurs right near the limit you set or at a better price. But keep in mind, there is the potential to miss out on profit on the sell side if the share price continues to increase, and the potential to miss out on a lower price as the share price continues to decline when buying.
