What would be the best advice as far as a military career who wants to serve 20 years that’s 33 years old , always been a big kid , i dropped 85 lbs and now im only 10 lbs away from my paperwork being sent to MEPS. Navy is the branch I’m looking to get into. I have no kids and just feel like I finally have an opportunity to be great in life. I love everything you do , Jake. It’s a blessing to see an African American who was a navy seal. You’re very inspiring to me!

Oh what the boi Artura was a class under me in ROTC! Dude's solid and humble and came a long way. Sorry to hear about your Dad but Congrats on your commissioning brother! Jake, you hit everything spot on with answering his questions. There is always the Guard / Reserve if you plan to do 20 and progress on the civilian side. Also, focus on leading your PLT the best way you can. Develop those relationships with your PSG and NCO's and earn their trust. If you really want to feel involved with helping them out just give them an ASVAB Study book/guide. Appreciate you Jake for doing doing God's work. Don’t join the Marines. Go somewhere softer. You will get smacked in the ear’s so hard that you won’t be able to hear for a month if you say this to a green belt. I am an Australian and we have DI’s that did that same thing to young folk like you saying they have a problem with people yelling. They will fix your problem with a few slaps. Go SF and those slaps get harder and faster. So fast, you won’t even see their arm move. When you see elephants walking upside down on a hike or naked female police officers walking by drinking water. Which I saw for some reason, this is not the time to open your mouth and blurt out what you think of a certain instructor yelling. It will be slap slap slap slap oh hell, my ears are on fire 🔥 ❤
