Maybe that's how we tend to like establishing our supremacy over others. Like people's personal opinion is something supposedly insurmountable but we seem to like it when we have our way. Because it generates a sense of accomplishment.

So basically your worst enemy is you yourself, in the form of laziness, aimlessness, fantasy dreaming, ignoring the reality, filthy habits, and so on. It's your evil desire which ruins your life. So tame yourself first and it's a constant struggle.

I used to practice this years back. Everything unpleasant is making me strong and actually helping me. Whether it was long walks for metro, running on metro stairs and not using lifts, standing in the metro for long time etc.. It actually works and thanks for the reminder :) Somewhere down the line I could buy a car and the leisure of travelling in AC kicked in. I have never been the same after that. Tough things are a boon. They make us

Thanks a lot for the guidance. This one 5-minute video is highly highly motivating for someone like me. I always thought I am not cut-out for hard things from my experiences in career and life but I never thought my desire to seek easy things is the underlying factor and not my capability that is failing me when encountered with hard things. Thank you so much! You contribution through these videos is changing lives.

Hi Rajan I have encountered a similar situation when I had to file my taxes. The task dreaded me and then the anxiety and stress that I have to do this boring job of filing my taxes, it was so hard. I tried many things, read many blogs because I really wanted to escape from this cobweb of being dreaded and procrastination for doing things that are boring and still need to be done. But in the end what helped me to sit down and finish my taxes was just this one thing - that I need to calm my mind down- I don't need to listen to anything good or bad from my mind. So simply just numbing my mind down not listening to anything positive not listening to anything negative and just doing the act because it needs to be done - that alone helped me a lot.

Brilliant! 10 out of 10! Extreme Clarity - 5star Sauna experience - practical application - meditation in that situation. Marathon, so hard work but practicing for months. Why? is it for challenge? is it for thrill? is it for achievement? or is it convince one self that I want to achieve it, no matter what? Great - convince your mind. Thanks.

Very true. Success or failure in life is often a result of one's attitude. With an incorrect attitude, even something that could have turned out to be a success may turn out to be a failure. I learned this lesson the hard way in life after making some mistakes along the way. Thank God I eventually learned the lesson though.

My first trip to India was precisely because I wanted to go outside of my comfort zone. I wanted to challenge my mental habits. What place is a better place than India for a spoilt European brat like me for doing just that? Most things that I thought I knew about myself where useless in that environment. I hade to re-program myself in order to cope with the reality around. Many years later I’m so grateful for having taking that step into the unknown then. I learnt so much about myself during that trip and new challenges are surely coming my way again. Now I feel much more confident that I can face challenges again because I know so much more about myself because I believe in trying hard things in life in order to learn more about myself. With knowledge comes confidence and with that comes perseverance and strength. My relationship with India have brought me many unforgettable moments of insights and today I feel like it’s my spiritual home country although I’m physically placed in an entirely different continent right now.

This is absolutely true! Even I tried this technique to give up sweet tea. Like what I did that while having the first sip of tea if there is no sugar we have a negative emotion so I changed that emotion to a positive emotion and just expressed a feeling of vow after the first sip of tea without sugar and didi this for a couple of days and now I don’t add sugar to my cup of tea from last 4 months .. It really works guys just give a try..

Hard word comes into action whenever we dont do the work that we love.If we do a work that gives us pleasure that doesn't make us to do hard any more. So,we have to do the work that brings us pleasure and it will only pushes us to complete the task. Then we may don't stress ourselves to do it .So, don't love what you do ,Do what you love.

Rajan, the technique you mentioned is about changing perspective. But what if I cant see the perspective. I find it when i struggle with changing the perspective, I start on the work anyways, but by chunking into manageable pieces. For example, if i have to work on something hard or complex, I chunk it down to bite size pieces and get started and the momentum starts to build slowly. The mind starts to feel it accomplished a small piece and wants to do more and this way I am able to get over the hump. Much like a giant wheel, at first it is hard to move the giant wheel, but slowly it starts to gather momentum over time.. Other techniques, I use is to see the benefit(good outcome) vs Risk(something that is harmful you must do otherwise it will cause pain) and that sometimes changes the perspective as well(more on your lines). The mind is a complex machine indeed!!!!...

hi,When we see alot of these things and techniques ,its reaffirmed strongly to ourselves that these techniques if accepted and proggrammed into our minds ,alot of tasks becomes easier although the technique is very simple and might even sound silly to a stressed teenager ,it is the mind that has to first believe its possible and that comes with practice and confidence builds once results start coming..
