Tea Spells if you want to go back to this way on the new phone you’ll have to reset and earse all data on the new phone. Make sure everything is still on the old phone and backed up etc. Then the new phone will go back to the white welcome screen and then follow these instructions with both phones in hand.

on the right vertical length of your old phone, use a small paper clip and stick it into the hole that’s on this length. you will need to push a bit hard and it’ll pop out. then you can remove the sim card from your old phone and do the same with the new phone. then you just insert the sun the right way up and put the tray back into the new phone. :)

you need to reset and start from scratch: SETTING>GENERAL>RESET>ERASE ALL CONTENT AND SETTINGS. That will set phone back to factory defaults and you can go with the direct transfer option

Here is the big problem with iCloud. You have 5G to share with all your devices. It’s used up FAST. If you don’t upgrade memory, each device has some stored pictures, some post 5G fill. If you get a new device and off load your pictures to a pc, the new device will take the deleted data. I wish I would have disabled iCloud from day 1. Also, my new iPhone SE did not transfer all wanted data. Dictionaries needed to be manually downloaded. Apps with links to my music had to be manually input. Not clear when I erase content on the old phone, message implies my new phone data will be affected.

I did not have the direct transfer available. I tried everything and finally found the problem. My old phone has iOS 13.1 and the new phone out of the box has iOS 13.0. The iOS versions on both phones must be identical to make this work. My problem however was that I setup the new phone first without apple id etc to first update to iOS 13.1 but there is a bug in some phones where you cannot update iOS through the phone. (Settings->Software update) I got an error searching for updates. I ended up having to install iTunes and update the phone that way using USB. After that I reset the new phone again to factory default. Then started the process again and then I did have the direct transfer option. Took about 40 minutes because it also copied all my photos etc. All wifi passwords, email accounts, most app passwords and all appdata, whatsapp facebook etc is all configured including accounts. It's like you make a clone of the phone basically... Don't forget, Google Authenticator data is not copied due to security reasons.

Indeed I picked up a new 11 Pro Max yesterday afternoon and spent all evening trying this method , and wasn’t getting anywhere it was only after leaving the Max to upgrade to the very latest iOS over night I realised something was amiss as the progress bar was only a quarter of the way which wasn’t right for that amount of time so reset the installation process which worked with a few mins then I was able to use the transfer process which was very straight forward and took about 30 mins . I will ad I was about to take my phone back to the store however after seeing this video and reading through the comments I was able to get sorted out . Thanks 🙏🏾

Getting a XR sometime this month so this was helpful thanks a lot Update - I got a white XR and did as the video said and it was so easy it was unbelievable but make sure the iPhone your transferring from has Bluetooth on and make sure you back up your old phone before you transfer all of your data

It has to have Bluetooth on the old phone and WiFi on had a issue too but Bluetooth must be enabled on old iPhone

@@Ask-_ i had to watch some other video where it shows. Sorry forgot at what point you make the exchange. I think it’s not going to damage anything whenever you do it, but there’s a good timing when is suggested to do it. Not sure why was not mentioned here…
