How to transfer from Hong Kong Airport directly to Macao by Bus

Due to the constitution of a new Runway at Hong Kong International Airport the Cotai and Turbojet Ferries from HKIA to Macao has been suspended and replaced by a Bus service over the worlds longest bridge, the Hong-Kong-Macao-Zhuhai-Bridge. As there aren't much information about it on the Internet, I made a Video for you!

EXPENSIVE...!!! 250 HKD so expensive! Better you get out through HK immigration, take your baggage, then use the bus to HZMB port. You go to HK immigration again, then you buy a ticket for just 65 HKD..!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY...!!!

Buses from HKIA to Macau starts at 8:30am, not 7:00am. Official journey time is 45min as per the bus company and from my experience only takes 35min, not 55min. The 250HKD price is only until end of Nov 2023, it's 280HKD after. If you have checked-in luggage, you need at least 1 hour to departure time or else they won't let you in. If you don't have checked-in luggage, it's 30min. It's not true that all ferries are suspended at the airport as you can still take the ferry on Tuesday, Wed and Friday at 12:45 to Macau (Taipa terminal).

The bus will stop at the HKMZ Frontier Point (Immigration to Macao) from where you can take the local busses, taxis and the casino shuttles to the final destination, pretty straight forward :) For the luggage: At least it's 2x 20kg per person, cause that's the usual amount you can bring to HK on Business Class or as a Frequent Flyer of an Airline, if it's more, I'll investigate it for you. Can I ask how is any checked bags got transferred to the baggage claim area near where you board the bus? I don’t quite understand how would the airline knows to send your bag to the Macau bus area, not the normal baggage claim for people entering Hong Kong? Thanks

Usually the airline doesn't know it, their service ends in Hong Kong. The Bus service provider will send someone to collect your bags from the belt and send them to the other belt at the bus terminal. They just need to see the bag tag of your boarding card, so they can identify the bags and once they found it you'll be allowed to enter the SkyPier area.

You can purchase it directly at the counter. I'm not entirely sure if there's a place to buy it online anyway.

No. If you accidentally exit through immigration, you still have the second option to get onto a bus via the HKMZ Border Station.

What is the other option if my flight arrives late and cannot take the last bus from sky pier for Macau ?

If there are no buses anymore from SkyPier, you'll have to catch the local bus to the HMZB-Border Passenger Clearance Building (second option described in the Video) and get a baus from there...should be running 24/7. It's a bit more compex to do this as the local bus stop is a bit hidden, but you'll be fine asking the airport staff. Enjoy your trip!

I book the free ticket on the website. But im confused because I will arrive on 21st april 10PM. The bus is 22nd april at 8.30AM. So 10 hour gap. I will not exit HK immigration. So what will happen to my baggage? Its okay to leave it for 10hours? Because i think the ticket or bus counter is not open 24 hours. Please advise me

That's a good question. When you don't collect your bag in time, it will go to the lost&found office, so at least it will be somewhere and the bus staff could collect it from there. But I can't tell you any reliable information about this particular case, so it might be better to ask the operator or airport custom service via mail or once you are there. Even though the process doesn't take it into account that people overnight in the airport, I'm sure they do have more than enough experience how to handle it.

Before Immigration! It's becoming a normal bus journey, on arrival you'll get the bags directly and then you'll have to walk to immigration.

Hi there, I hold an Indian passport. I have booked my ticket from Singapore to Hongkong. I do not have a Hongkong visa and my PAR(pre arrival registration) for Indians is unsuccessful, Hence I would like to go to Macau directly from Hongkong airport. I cannot go thru immigration because I don't have a Hongkong visa or PAR. so when I book the Ferry ride or the bus, will they collect my bag? and I don't have to go thru immigration, is that Right?

No, that makes no sense at all. China has lots of experiences building bridges. They don’t need Russia. This bridge was jointly built by all 3 cities, each building their own sections and linking up at sea.
