UPDATE: All in 1 Migration plugin now doesn't have the basic plan (they increased the limit by default). But if you need an even BIGGER limit, you don't need the paid plan. Just navigate to your website files via FTP or (File Manager). Find the .htaccess file and add this line at the very bottom. php_value upload_max_filesize 2048M php_value post_max_size 2048M php_value memory_limit 512M php_value max_execution_time 300 php_value max_input_time 300 This will increase your limits, good luck with your website transfers!

Great, fast-paced video. Here are 4 open questions I have that hardly any migration tutorial talks about: 1) How about moving the email files (when the hosting package one initially bought was domain name + web hosting + email hosting), lets say all under the old domain name (just moving to a new host) 2) How about moving things like additional DNS records (CNAMEs, TXT records) that one installed over the years, e.g. to authenticate SMTP providers to send mails on behalf of your domain 3) How about other databases and files that reside out of the WP database/wordpress directory - e.g. ecommerce module that has a folder in the root of the domain, next to the wordpress files and that has also its own tables in the 4) How to deal with ecommerce transaction that still "hit" the website on the old host after you took a copy but before you moved to the new host. How long does it take for nameserver to update? - what to do with transactions that still got processed on the hold database during the DNS updating period? Any suggestions, pointers to and of these questionsß

so as I said I have to put old name of the database and other other old credentials Am I right?
@Emit.Reviews3 жыл бұрын
You don't need to change the name of the database, because if you followed the steps as I've done in the video the wp-config should already be created with the new names. But you do need to change the PREFIX to the old one from the new one. Let me explain why this happens. 1. You create a "blank" website it autocreates a database and config file. It links everything together. 2. You enter inside the database and delete all of the information there, then change it with the old info. (Since you're only changing the CONTENT of the database, not importing it from scratch you don't need to change the database name in config) 3. However, the database PREFIX won't match now and it's part of the content so the only thing you need to update is the config. If you follow the steps in the video exactly it should work no problems :) It's kinda hard to explain this via text.

@Emit.Reviews2 жыл бұрын
You need to transfer the whole website. But before that make sure you're actually optimizing your website and content. Hostgator isn't a particularly fast hosting company but it can be optimized for an okay result. Don't spend more money before trying to solve your problem, do the research, see what helps. If at the end the speed still doesn't satisfy you then yes - switch providers or upgrade your plan. How to speed up your website video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/noCngaiDq92NsKs Good luck!

Thanks Emit! I'm a little confused about something: When you log in to the newly installed WordPress, do you create a new login or use your old WordPress login? If it's the same login, can you use this to edit several different domains with the same WordPress login? Thanks
@Emit.Reviews Жыл бұрын
When you create a new instance you'll need to create login information (it can be the same as your old site, but you still need to create it) The way these WordPress logins are handled is "per instance". So, 2 multiple sites can have the exact same login info. Every website has its own WordPress instance installed, so while the login information can be the same. You'll see info in regards to that specific site when you log in. Hope this clears it up a bit.

I have one question I don`t have put an old name of the database and user and Server because I import old database with old information so that is not need to override the name of the debase in the wp config file?
@Emit.Reviews3 жыл бұрын
You still need to do that if you use my method. Because the way I do it is I create a new blank website automatically. So the system creates all of the necessary folders and files. And then I just put the old files into the new containers. But the config file still looks for the "new" names so you have to change that.
@DennisMillner3 жыл бұрын
I was getting 403 forbidden after doing the manual transfer. It was because of the .htaccess file restored from the old wordpress installation. In order to avoid this problem you need to retain the new .htaccess file (in addition to the wp-config.php) from the fresh wordpress installation. Otherwise a very good tutorial, thanks!

@DennisMillner3 жыл бұрын
@@unboxingroom I can't remember the exact process of this tutorial, but i think you we're supposed to save the wp-config.php from the fresh wp installation. So in addition to that you need to save the .htaccess file at the same step. So do as the tutorial says and just save the .htaccess file as well from the new install (don't overwrite it with the one in the old install).

Is this basicly what you're doing if you're handing a website to a client? They make an account to a host provider, install wordpress there and import the webpage that I've created? But what if I use things like elementor pro and client doesn't have that?
@Emit.Reviews11 күн бұрын
I usually have them buy a web hosting account that they give me access to it. And I immediately build a site on that account (no need to transfer) Or I host it on my VPS and I charge the client a monthly fee for hosting & administrating ( since theyll still need some updates/ fixes / etc). But in your specific case, you can transfer the site. Then point your domain DNS to the new server IP. If you used a personal elementor pro account itll keep the existing functionality. But if you need to change something using it again. Youll need to deactivate your licence and activate it on that account. But be careful this is a "workaround" and elementor caught on they started limiting the amount of times you can switch which website the plan is connected to
@MrJaksuuu11 күн бұрын
@@Emit.Reviews Thank you very much for your answer. I'm trying to get into this all web designing business but havent found the information on what choices you have with handing over websites. Can you clarify what you mean by pointing my domain DNS to new server IP? Can't I just use my local wordpress, make clients web pages offline and once completed I just transfer it to their host?
@Emit.Reviews11 күн бұрын
Oh yeah you 100% can. I assumed you create the sites on your own test hosting. But keep in mind that you'll (well you're clients) need a domain name for it to work outside of your local host. Like websitename.com. So, its a seperate purchase and if you would go to that domain name settings there's an option to "link" it to a specific server. So, it displays files from that server. This is called pointing an A record via your DNS.
