How to Transform a Juniper from the Ground Into a Bonsai

Today, I'll be working on two Prostrata Junipers, one in a bonsai pot, and one in a growing pot. My goal is to show you how to start with a tree from the ground or in a growing pot and transform it into an established bonsai in a bonsai pot.

I wish I had put trees in the ground 25 years ago. I look in every yard I pass for old growth trees that I might be able to offer a few bucks to pull out if the yard is messy. I also don’t cut back so drastic I see the pad and cut back the basic shape. I do believe you’re doing it right as well it’s your way.

Quick and easy approach done to this tree out of its nursery pot. No hesitation on your part which is good so that one does not always second guesses oneself. I like your approach on the roots and the pruning.

Two things to speed up the process. Experience...you will be able to make quick decisions after doing more ...and the second is to proceed with courage. Many branches will emerge if you cut off the wrong place...That is..,.,You can never make any mistake 🙂

Buds just emerge, so I want the tree to grow wild to gain strength, and also to give me more opportunity to redesign., Please stayed tuned, ABOUT UPDATing VIDEO: My approach is to update a group tiospeed up information transfer... so that update to start will have that live oak, the valley oak I just did two weeks ago, and then add Digging A live Oak to Make Into Bonsai. I thing you'll like tha! 🙂
