I think your math doesn't add up. The reward is the full 26k of super dragonite. The other dragonite you used for advancing gold gear which you can undo after. So you had nothing, spent 107k of gems and end up with 26k. So 26k is simply the reward, isn't it?

When you do dragon gear with diamonds you will spend exactly the same ratio. So it's worth😄
