how to transplant tuberous begonia plants

My mom gave me a polka dot begonia after she almost killed it. Most of the leaves fell off in a cold windstorm. Half the plant is still doing good, but there are several long/thick stems sticking out without any leaves. Will the leaves grow back or should I cut it down? It also needs a bigger pot but I’m afraid transplanting it right now will put it into more shock.

What is the maximum temperature that this variety of begonia can take? I'm in Texas.

I'm not sure what the maximum temperature that begonia variety can take but I do know that because you live in Texas you want to keep the plant more in the shade.

Hi, My container was a 10" hanging basket. 5 in a 14" container should work fine. Your welcome!

Can I replant last years tubers in the same compost that I left in the containers, they have be3n brought up in my home

Yes you can just add some slow release plant food to recharge the soil.

Is the soil really wet? What type of lighting is it getting? Did it get cold out where you are growing it at? Did you keep the root ball at the same planting depth? Was your water cold that you watered it with? Does the soil feel cold?
