Perfect, I used 4 2x4s. same idea as you but used some extra cut off as stops so the frame wouldn't move in my truck bed, plus extra straps pulling the wood down to the truck bed. 3 straps on top of the glass door.

i have to pick one up nearly 3 hours away. Will the door be like a sail or get jostled and bounce any using your method? I was thinking of renting an F-150 for a day. i have ratchet straps, at least two of them. The door is 60X 80. Would that likely fit in an F-150? Thank you for posting this and showing pictures of the setup.

Just a quick point about this video ... although I agree your method is solid, it will not work with a short bed pick up truck like the one shown in the begining of your video ( where the door is lying across the truck bed and over the top bedside rail. Your method appears would only work with 8 ft beds .

It works on my f150 with a 6 foot bed. I agree that any shorter bed would need adjustments.

What about patio doors that are 8ft+ long? I suppose one could make a triangular support off the back of the tailgate, or a wooden rectangle on each side of the glass.

Very clever! I can do that.

Can you just take the doors off and stack them?
@jonathanc85133 ай бұрын
straps are probably longer than the standard ones
@tkomic193 жыл бұрын
okay another question are we just relying on gravity to hold the lumber inside the truck?
@weekendwarrior56623 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are really trying to keep the bottom from shifting side to side and the straps restrict any upwards movement

What if door is longer then bed an u have to leave tail gate down
@rlolo7772 жыл бұрын
Wow. My concern is driving under stuff. Most fwy and street bridges are how high? And how high does the door assembly get?
@tkomic193 жыл бұрын
any others methods, what about horizontal on the bed frame and add straps? does that risk break in the glass?
@weekendwarrior56623 жыл бұрын
If you put 2x4(s) across the rails it could work, but doors are not designed to handle a lot of force perpendicular to the glass.
