I like making bottom set on the points for mink

Should stake for biggest animal possible!! 100% chance a racoon is going walk away with that trap. Any waterway has racoons! Most times you will catch more racoons then mink at most pocket sets and occasionally k9!! Then racoon has to deal with a trap on his foot then the non trapping public finds him stuck somewhere and makes the good trappers look bad!! Nice pocket set but terrible staking advice

Regardless of coon or mink, a 1 1/2 jump trap is a poor choice. Both of the above can pull out of them easily.

I alway use double spring those under spring seems to throw animals out of trap ? Have y’all ever experienced this

Pocket sets are my number 1 set

Loose jaw should be facing the pocket if your setting for mink, going to miss a lot of them otherwise

Would it be best to have short leg animals step between the jaws. Also too many calls them leghold traps . When they are foothold . BLM is guilty of that also . I normally use 1 1/2 coil .
