HOW TO TRAVEL FROM HUAY XAI - LUANG PRABANG | TAKE THE FAST TRAIN! | FIRST CLASS TRAIN IN ASIA??

After arriving in Huay Xai (LAOS) from crossing the border from Thailand, Char & I had some doubts about taking the seriously long bus journey which takes about 12 hours or the insane two day journey on the traditional slow boat! to get us to our next destination (Luang Prabang). Luckily we found the other option which is via a local bus to Luang Namtha from Huay Xai.... Then catch the brand new Chinese fast train down to Luang Prabang! We hit a few bumps & pot holes on our travels.....But... We Made it! This travel guide video explains how to do it, THE FAST WAY!!!!

The China-Laos train have both “squat” toilet and western ones, if you see a squat one, the next carriage is the western one. One at each end👍 they made it both for locals and tourists

I did do the boat trip a few years back (before covid) with a few people I met in Thailand and it was an experience that I rather enjoyed. Obviously not for someone in a hurry or press for time though. Wish you well and enjoy your trip (if you still traveling).

In fact, a train with a top speed of 160km/h is not considered a high-speed railway in China, and there are several types with a top speed of 300, 400. And by the way,the finest class is the “Business Class”,which is typically the triple prices of the second class

​@@lovetravelcq I have only traveled on the Chinese section of this railway (China-Laos Railway). I don't know why the train you took didn't have a business class, maybe because of the local income level. But I have seen other vloggers take business class

Yes it’s probably best you prebook the tickets which we didn’t do! They only had first class option available! 😃

from HUAI XAI to LUANG NAMTHA you took 5 hours by bus ? why did you take the train to LUANG NAMTHA which is further north to go down to LUANG PRABANG?

That way is much faster and smoother, as the only other way is on a bud which is 12-14 hours, or the 2 day river boat down the Mekong River. Hope that helps ✌🏽 😄

Hi, we got out bud tickets from the little blue hostel which is on the video where we start from, also you can get the train ticket directly from the train station as they don’t have the facilities to do online purchasing yet. Hope that helps 😁✌🏽

Nope you have to go to the train station for your ticket, or if your in a major city you can visit the ticket office, but be aware the queue is huge! Haha 😂

Catch the train from Luang Namtha 😊🙏 saves so much time and you get there fast! You buy the train ticket from the station 🚉
