Do you find the cymbal bags as well padded as rav's official bag? You mentioned the rav bag does a good job at keeping the rav from poking you in the back.

Question: what are the little magnetic flaps in between the shoulder harness at the bottom of the bag? What are they there for?
@RAVVastSteelTongueDrum3 жыл бұрын
It's made in order to expand the layer on the inside, put the bag on the ground and sit on it, and then wrap it back and the bag will not be dirty on the outside :)

Received my Rav a few weeks ago and realize I traveling with it a lot (by car). How resilient is the drum? I have the soft case from Rav Vast and an wondering if it knicks a wall/doorway or has an impact with another object, will that damage it? Thinking about the tongues especially. Could an impact on the tongues cause them to be pushed down and damage tuning or resonance?

Hi there! The drum is durable but having an impact with another project would probably damage it. And yes, the impact on tongues may cause them to push down. It really depends on how strong the impact would be, but the drum should be fine being in the car.

I have more questions about traveling with this device on airlines. I would most certainly be more comfortable traveling with this on my person, but do most airlines allow that? I fly europe a lot, so BA, Ryanair, Norwegian, SAS, etc, and my budget is .. well. I fly low budget airlines whenever i can. Will it even fit in the overhead compartments? Another question - if you don't want to keep it in its padded backpack, how do you store it when you're at home? Do you leave it sitting out? I feel like that would potentially be a cause for concern too, leaving it more exposed? Third and last question - I plan to live on a boat. That is naturally a humid environment for the most part, which would for sure require more care and I'm fine with that. But do you think it could actually work at all, or would that environment destroy my rav? And how would I most optimally store it in a situation like that? Id hate to be unable to play this beautiful instrument just because I live alternatively.. Of course I'd hade more destorying one :) Great video, I've learned a lot from you as a total noob with only 3 days playing under my belt :)

Hello Mari! Thanks for the questions. The overhead compartments: depends on a case. Even the same company can allow it one time and deny another. It's actually better contacting them before the flight and asking about this. But in most cases, everything should be fine. Secondly: leaving it exposed won't do any damage to it, you can just leave it standing against a wall. Also you can get a stand for it. There are guitar stands that fit well, but you should bring your RAV in the store so you can try out different stands. And about the boat: Just make sure it doesn't contact with water. Also you may apply a caring product a lot more often than you would, probably around two times a week, maybe even more often. Remember that storing it in the case is always worse than storing it exposed, as the bag allows steel to build up moisture inside the drum. Hope we helped!

@@RAVVastSteelTongueDrum Thank you for the helpful tips! I feel a little more at ease now, armed with this information. I've been getting a lot of help out of your videos, keep up the good work! Cheers from Norway, and happy Christmas! (if you celebrate that - otherwise happy winter solstice!)

hey, have a question too. do you think i can take my RAV with me on a train trip? only for a few hours, but i am afraid that the rav can get broken.

We suggest you use a special RAV case. That should be safe
