One thing that I did when recovering from a pinky toe injury was making a slice in an older pair of mesh sided runners to allow lots of room for the pinky toe. It stopped the painful rubbing and I did not have to wear special shoes.

On my way to the washroom I hit the door frame so that it pushed the pinky toe outwards and snapped it like a twig (the snapping cracking sound included). Strangely it did not hurt much. In the ER they x-rayed and confirmed an oblique fracture with minimal displacement. They used basic tape to tie the three toes together but with cotton pads in between toes. It seems to be holding and doing the job. I have some swelling and bruising couple of inches around the toe but otherwise no pain.

I didn’t stop doing things when I broke mine being stubborn and in denial a little also. It healed but took forever and it still has pain sometimes 6 months later. It sticks up now over my other toes and fits in shoes weird. Lesson learned!

So yeah, this was definitely helpful. I only ordered a cane that I’ve been using for the last two weeks from Amazon. It isn’t like I need to go anywhere having a telecommute job. But this thing is not healing totally and I’m going to need to wrap it looks like, so thanks again. But thank God the pain is simmering down and I could still totally feel the toe.

thank you for this video. I broke my middle toe when I kicked my metal bed frame. Would I still need to use the post op surgical sandal if I'm not planning to go hiking ? would the buddy taping be enough?

I can't even believe that this happened to me this is the dumbest thing that's ever happened in my life. I was making arts & crafts while watching Xena Warrior Princess and I literally fell out of my chair and my pinky toe caught the side of the table. It was like the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Somehow I knew it was broken. I've never broken a single bone in my life. And I've been hit by a car going 55 mph while on was on a bike. But a pinky toe? From sitting? What the heck. I can't even believe it myself.

I got hurt my 4 toe at night i hit with a furniture leg not too hard but i feel a little bit pain is not purple still i can able to move it but i have pain i out a bandage between 3 and 4 toe I hope that is correct thanks ❤

What should I do if I have multiple broken toes? My middle toe, my "ring finger" toe and I think my pinky toe (not 100% on that one) are broken and have been for something like a year now (my mom told me "they cant do anything for a broken toe", so I basically left it) and now the pain is so bad I can't wear shoes or boots (or even slippers!) for more than 30 min or so. Can I buddy tape all three toes to my remaining healthy ones or would this require a different approach? Is it possible they've "healed wrong" over the past year?

I slipped on water in the bathroom floor with my right foot, and my left foot went backwards and touch the floor, and then I fell. When I looked at my toes two were facing sideways, they returned to the Natural position, and I wrapped him up with that kind of tape and I feel OK but I have the feeling I broke them. I just hate going to emergency rooms they take forever.
