After years of keeping different mosses and having the same problem. I now only keep coral moss. Very very slow growing. No more need for monthly cutting. Great channel. Subscribed.

Glad you enjoyed it Chelms! More content with my roommate, Mal, coming soon. We're gonna be setting up a Betta tank for her bedroom/office soon. Should be a fun project!

I have my moss growing and attached to a coconut shell. Very easy for me to just remove the whole shell, transfer it to a separate spare 5 gallon tank , and simply trim it from there.. lol But I deftly love your tip and will use it whenever I decide to grow moss on branches. Very cool tip! Thanks for the video. :)

That’s a good idea with the coconut shell. Being able to remove the moss and just quickly trim it outside of the tank is nice

Great video Logan! I love me some moss, but even with a syphon I still miss some. Every so often when I have time I’ll go in with tweezers and individually pick out pieces I see because they like to get lodged in the carpet. I have a dedicated tank with moss and the others I keep it away!

That’s a great tip with the tweezers!

So if it wanted a fissidens carpet, can I just keep trimming and let them sink in place over bare substrate?
@LoganRandoAquascaping Жыл бұрын
In theory you could

If You have a lot of moss (I have lot!), I advise You to buy cheap small canister filter (I use this one LW-602B), trimmings stay in a filter on a sponge, and You can trim endlessly coz water without moss is pushing back to aquarium. 👍🏻

I’ve seen a video from Jurijs using the canister filter technique. It’s brilliant. I may just have to get my hands on a small one and try it for myself 😁

An eden 501 vacuum will make you life so so much easier, it just pumps the water back into your tank
