Can't believe I see so many crappie fisherman who haven't trolled for crappies. You don't have to use Bandits like Mike Baker who gets a semi load wants a month. Number 5 Flicker shads, Rapala shad raps, Arkies work great. Use braid with 3ft floral leader. That way if you get snagged you can pull it out most the time. Troll to you find them then work the area. Once you get on to it you won't go back to a bobber. By the way nice video.
@ThatsAGoodFish3 жыл бұрын
Definitely love trolling for them. We love trolling flickers too. But the bandits were killing it on this lake so we stuck with it. We just finished a trolling vs livescope video. Thanks for watching

@ThatsAGoodFish3 жыл бұрын
No problem happy to help. In the video we we basically just make a good long cast with 10 lb braided line and that’s good enough to get those bandit 300’s down 13feet or so. I haven’t tried the Arkie cranks but I’m sure they would work. What would you like to see in another trolling video? Thanks for watching!

Main lake. Look for the channel and just start there, follow the channel and look for swings in the channel.

Thanks. I will give that a try. We fish Bull Shoals and it is so deep. I was thinking it might be too deep
@ThatsAGoodFish3 жыл бұрын
Just follow the channel, and look for thermocline. Maybe some of the creek arms and their channels on bull shoals too. You might not use high vis braid like we do at bulk shoals. May go straight fluorocarbon

I notice I pretty much only pick up trout when I pull cranks. Is there a technique I’m missing or is this just a me and my lake problem?
@ThatsAGoodFish2 жыл бұрын
We don’t have trout in our lakes around here so we don’t have to worry about that. I doubt there is a technique problem. Crappie suspend so it’s just a matter of getting it in front of them

Can u troll with the two stroke or does that spook em? I dont have a remote on my trolling motor

You can definitely troll with a big motor! That’s how I started trolling. Just try and troll it 1-2 mph max. It will work just fine if you get your bait down there!

Would pulling cranks post spawn be good? Like a 10ft flat

Absolutely. Trolling is great post spawn. We usually do best relating to the channel but if there is bait around the flat maybe so

@Rankings-Revealed6 ай бұрын
Does color of braid matter?
@ThatsAGoodFish6 ай бұрын
It doesn’t in our experience. Often times we use high visibility braid but most of our lakes in the Midwest have some color and aren’t super clear. If they are super clear I might run fluorocarbon leader
@Rankings-Revealed6 ай бұрын
@@ThatsAGoodFish Thank you I fish mostly Kansas. Whats your preferred brand/color.
