How to Trouble Shoot a Kraken Vekta.5 - Finally Fixed - Smith RC Studios

In this episode of Smith RC Studios i take a closer look into my problem from last week. My engine was cutting out once i hit full throttle. After many great suggestions and feedback from viewers i was able to get this machine running again.

Doesnt the exhaust spray out oil into the gas tank.

No not really. Never had that problem. I did, however get oil behind on the shock towers but not too much. Although i gotta say, this video is a while back ago and i have modified it since so much with new engine and exhaust. Now new project is under way so well. Hope to see you there. Cheers

Hi you doing, do you know the factory 1107 carb settings. I just received a vecta 5 and after 2 heat cycles my vekta is doing the same thing as yours. Also which way do I turn the high and low needles to close and open cause my 1107 carb has the high and low letters upside down. Thanks alot.

Low Needle 1 3/8ths and High needle is 1 7/8ths. Those are factory settings. It doesn’t matter if it’s upside down or the right side up. On the carb you will see an “L” for low. You will see an “H” for high. Both the needles you can screw them in until they stop (Do not over torque!!). Once both needles are screwed down so one at a time screwing back outwards. Remember a half turn is 180 degrees. So when i say 1 3/8ths on low i mean exactly that. Always go by half turns out. So 1 3/8ths means start with a half turn, then another half turn (making this the full “1” turn), then another half turn (making it 1.5 turns.) , then turn back down a HALF quarter turn. Then done. It also depends what engine you are running but that’s also important to know. The specs above are for a stock engine. But if you have something like in my video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ3bmJutadSksLM then you need to have different carb settings. Well that depends on what carb you are using. I use 990 and 1107.

Hi you doing, I just got a Vecta 5 and my car is doing the same exact thing as your after I did a break in. What is the factory settings on the 1107 carburetor, I have the stock engine, I replace the spark plug and still the same thing soon as I throttle it sound like it's gargling. The high and low symbols on the carb is upside down, which way should it turn to close and open also. Thankyou.

If you have a moment... Great video, now that you have your motor on dialed in, how do you feel about the Trepador tire (diameter)? Are you happy with the stock gears or do you think you "need" the mega torque gears to balance things out?
