Thanks for this video. At the very end, you mentioned the screw that tightens the little gear which drives the clutch gear. (sorry if my terminology is off.) I've had the problem with that screw coming undone & tightening it put my bike back on the road. But yesterday I had a new problem. The two gears have displaced so that now the motor isn't driving the chain. When I turn that screw, the piston moves freely like the large clutch gear is disengaged from the little gear. It was dark and roadside when it happened, so I basically walked it home. I'll take it apart again to see if I can apply the insights you've shared here. Thank you.
@matthewbascom Жыл бұрын
Update. After inspecting the small gear screw, I noticed that the little gear was stationary when I turned the screw. The piston was also turning when I turned the screw. When I pulled the gear off, I noticed a small notch on both the shaft and the gear, and a toothed washer behind the screw that had worn down teeth. So I fashioned a round washer from the repair kit included with the motor to lock the screw to the gear, and now it drives. Thanks for the motivation!

Incredible video. If my moto chain is off, my bike tire turns fine. Incredibly difficult to turn the bike pedals if moto chain is on If I was paying any attention, I believe it has to do with adjusting the flower nut? It's supposedly a new kit but I am seeing grease and marks on screws. No noticable damage to parts. Should I grease the cogs more?

Great video. Thanks. Question: I bought a new gas motor kit and properly hooked it up to my bicycle. Someone, who was kindly helping me, put in an extra Clutch Actuator Bearing (because he did not see the other bearing that was hidden) and cracked the back plate on the other side. I went in, via the backside, and removed that extra bearing. I close it up and attempted a quick test run. When the clutch is squeezed and released, it does still open and close the door properly in the carborator. The spark plug is new and inserted properly. It does have fuel going from the gas tank to the carborator. But when I now get on the bike and pedal downhill while holding in on the clutch, it does nothing. Before the guy put that extra bearing in it did drive, but the backwheel was locked up until it was forced to a rolling start... but it would start and drive. However, it would only accelerate and not slow down, though, so I was forced to akways use the kill switch. Now, the back wheel turns with no resistance, but it just will not start. The small sprocet (the one at the motor), where the chain goes around, spins freely with no resistance. Something is just not engaging the clutch to put it in drive. I do not even hear any noises (popping) from the motor when I roll it downhill to start it. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks. -Shawn

Eugene, one thing I would like some clarity on. The perch that the clutch cable runs through, you unscrew it and stick the punch in the notch of the clutch assembly. Here is my question - When you have the punch in the notch and you roll the bike back, are you supposed to hold the punch so the assembly doesn't roll back to? I put the punch in there and rolled the bike back, but the assembly rolled back as well. Am i supposed to hold the punch and put force in the opposite direction while rolling the bike back?

I'm doing my first build. I haven't messed with bikes since I was a teen. 65 yo now. Problem I've encountered is an incredibly stiff pull on the hand controls to release the clutch. I've got a firm handshake too. I've seen times I had to pull hard on the handle then reach down and pull another quarter inch or so on the clutch arm for the wheel to roll freely. I'm not sure how to properly reduce the pressure required. After watching this clip (thank you) I think I can accomplish this by turning the flower nut a notch or few. Clockwise or counter not sure at the moment. Dabs of axle grease here and there advisable I know. Please advise. Thanks. It's the Bikeberry 48cc BBR Tuning. Going on a Switz Cruz. Looks pretty cool.

Gotta new kit 80cc... got it together and took it out... first start and ride went ok but I smelled clutch... the next day motor will not turn over with the clutch... I adjusted it and no change...I will set the preload and try again 🤘😆
