I used this tutorial to build an xp farm at a zombie spawner I found really close to my base. I also used comments to turned it into a "drowned farm," so thanks for all the tips in the comments. As I kept playing, I eventually got the resources to cure zombie villagers, so I went back at night, waited for one to spawn, cured him and let him out. He apparently linked to a brewing stand in my base and turned into a cleric with ridiculously low prices (1 emerald = 1 ender pearl, 1 emerald = 1 bottle of enchanting, etc...) So I decided to give him a bed and named him "Tim" after a character in Monty Python's The Holy Grail. Now he just lives down there. It's kind of awesome. Thanks for the tutorial.

You can also incorporate powder snow into the skeleton spawner farm so they can transform into strays and get better loot. You just need a cobweb underneath the powder snow block so the skeletons can stay long enough to become strays.

Spiders are also easy to farm, reg. as much as venoumus mine spiders, all you have to do is do the same but with those wooden window pieces at 1 block above the water, it hinderts them from climbing the wall up + if you use wooden signs and place them under the ending water piece while leaving 2 to 3 blocks space before the "Drop" they also can't get hold of anything and continuesly fall down in one straight line.

Tip for spiders. Use their climbing to help move them. Use water to direct them to a wall that they climb into another suspended water stream or other movement method. Scaffolding is a good block to trap them with as it's transparent from the sides and bottom. And solid from the top. Place 2x2 Cobble/ stone brick wall for aesthetic with one block gap the spiders sit in. This is your kill chamber. It's the most effective I've found to pull them up and not down. Dropping traps rarely work unless you widen it more than the spiders. And even then it's more likely to kill them.

I made my first spawner xp farm with a cave spider spawner. I totally winged it but I knew the concept. All the water comes off of one wall, at the edge of that line of water's reach they fall down one into a line of water flowing to the side and in the corner where they all end up I have a half block opening where they peep when they jump up from the water what they constantly do, and I have a trap door to close it off when I'm not killing. Under their favorite hopping spot I have a hopper feeding into a chest on my side of the wall and I can take enough distance whilst killing them to pick up the xp with another tool in hand. Works amazingly well. I can even afk for a few as the spiders group up at their kill spot.

You can upgrade skeleton and zombie farms for better loot drops by converting them into Drowned and Stray variants. Have them fall into the kill chamber while their heads are submerged in water or powdered snow respectfully. The conversion force drops any armor the mobs have equipped and gives them a new inventory.
@LucyLoveheart889642 жыл бұрын
how can i hold the water in place for the drowned version? would a cobweb work?
@coreyhead57772 жыл бұрын
@@LucyLoveheart88964 Place a sign on the block level where they land to prevent the water from escaping. Place a water source above it. This will submerge their heads under water and convert them into Drowned. It takes time to convert them so this one’s great for afk. This will also cancel fall damage so either a mending sword or many cheap stone swords are advised. Side note, zombie villagers and baby zombies won’t convert so use a half slab or iron trap door at the kill window to prevent babies from escaping. Zombies drop equipment upon conversion so more loot drops. For Strays, use two cobwebs and two powdered snow in this configuration (snow-web-snow-web) to hold the skeletons in the snow long enough to convert them as they fall. (Side note, skeletons wearing leather boots won’t fall through and will stand on top of the snow. Either use a lava dispenser to periodically clear them, or make a kill window at your own peril: got killed by this farm more times than I’m proud of. Just use a lava dispenser. Skeletons are bastards. Gain enchanted bows, armor, and slowness arrows.

@@coreyhead5777 So. The sign works great. But once they turn into drowned they attempt to swim up. That's really annoying, and I have no idea how to stop it. They just clogg up the system so I kill them every 2 1/2 minutes, but I still have to hit multiple times to get all of them - as they just keep on swimming up once block. Lots of patience is required with the zombie method.

@@coreyhead5777 The water is above the sign on top of the hopper and between the water and the drop is a single block. and since I have slabs going on to keep babies from escaping i can't exactly reach the drowned that swam up. Spider XP farm unlike Zombie or Skeleton seems to be even less common than Skeleton one despite chances being 50 / 25 / 25 for Zombie/Skeleton/Spider respectively. But what I mean is Spider XP farms are possible but are bit more complex as Spiders need 2x2 corridor to be moved, their climbing ability does make the use of fall damage near pointless unless you use blocks that Spiders cannot climb such as Glass. For Spider Spawner i suggest if possible to make a large drop that sets Spiders in critical condition, then its about to lure them to chamber.

Great video. I have a question....In stead of camp fires could you use magna blocks & hoppers?? Would the magna blocks kill them and the loot be picked up by the hoppers?? If possible, a person should be able to stand nearby & just collect the XP. Or maybe a Trident killer setup

Thanks to this tutorial I have at last built a working double skelly XP farm. I just have to find a decent afk spot to make them both activate but otherwise it was working good. Thanks a lot!
