I have those days often. Like you i just get busy. I also get involved in accessability issues in my town. On and on. Unfortunately i also look at others and realize i have no excuse to feel bad or sorry for myself. This always straightens me out. I cannot do half the things you do but i still get motivated watching your videos. So yea, if yer feeling down, look at other folks with disabilities that are worse off than you are. Guarantee you will feel ashamed of yourself. Im t10 complete with broken wrists that dont bend much. You get the picture.

I don't normally comment, but these videos just keep getting better. You're saying everything that doesn't really get said very often, and that's usually what needs to be heard the most. Your unique situation, your attitudes, and your positive lifestyle are all right down my alley and very inspiring. I've been genuinely excited to see notifications of new videos, and I'm really glad to see how motivated you seem to be to continue. The way you tackle these topics, especially instead of glorifying them, you're going to be the best disability-related channel on here. With all the clever hacks you've devised, I'd agree with another comment that I would love to see more around-the-home talks and tips. Personally, being able to pull my own weight around the home can be one of my biggest boosts for independence and morale, in addition to being able to get out and get around.

This is such a wonderful comment that really means a lot. on my other channel (one i use to lurk and watch) i hardly ever comment unless it's really meaningful so i know how special this comment is. I have a cooking video coming soon, i have a grocery shopping video and i'm sure i will keep doing more around the house stuff like cleaning tips and what not. that may be more difficult because i have someone come clean for me so i can focus on making more videos for you guys but i think that's a wonderful idea
I'd love some tips on housework in the future. I am not in a wheelchair all the time. My gait is jacked but I only use my chair for longer distances. But the challenges for every day housework I struggle with. Having a bad day trying to get that done today, watched your video and now I refuse to have a bad day!!! Thanks.

I love how you hop those curbs. I still struggle with loss of balance fears. HUGE mental challenge. I know I can do it, because I did it once before after about an hour of mental screaming to force myself to stand, and to take a step forward and back. You can see me walking the beach in my pic on the left here with my fore-arm braces.
@Wheels2Walking5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Took me a long time to get confident enough to just hop up there. Some curbs are too big for me to want to try but 4-6 inches is usually ok. Yeah it's hard but what made me the most confident was practicing getting back up after falling. so if i did ever fall i had a game plan as to how i would get back up 💪🏻

When I have a bad day I do 4 things: -pray and thank god for everything that I AM greatful for -remember that I am the way I am for a reason, even if I haven’t figured out why yet. -Write in my gratitude journal about what was GOOD about the day, even if its something small. -I do somthing I love. (for me its usally playing music, making art, riding my horse, gaming, watching KZbin videos, baking, reading a book, going outside, going for a walk, hanging out with my dog {don’t judge me lol}, writting a story, or working on an edit for my KZbin channel {its not this channel}) For me this does wonders! If your not religious, obviously the first step don’t apply to you.... but you can still realize everything that you have to be greatful for!

However, I notice you talk about standing to assemble/disassemble your chair and walk short distances.... What's the longest you can stand/ walk for, if you don't mind me asking? I'm in physical therapy to help strengthen my left leg a bit, as my right leg is shot, but I'm not seeing any results...

I’m not sure I have ever measured the distance or counted the steps. I can get around my apartment with no wheels or crutch just fine. With my crutch I can get pretty far if I have to but if I can use my wheels I will. Walking can be pretty painful and my left knee is only going to last so long. :/
