Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. As someone who works with a very simple antique machine, I also appreciate that you mentioned that it could still work without zigzag or back stitching.

This is great, Tanya. I already did mine. I had a 6x6 book of my stencils I had emptied into a bin, so I got several more sets of the 6x6 filler pages. Divided some of them in half and some in thirds for the skinny embossing folders. Works great, and I can see everything. I just sewed a straight stitch, not zig-zag. I’ll let you know if it matters.

If you have a piece of thick cardboard, like from a watercolor paper tablet or sketchbook pad (the backing board?), you could slide that in the page protector and use your X-acto knife. Great idea since you can often find the plain page protectors at the thrift store. TFS!
