How To Turn Your Custom Green Spaces into Parks Using EASY Developer Tools | Cities Skylines 2

Cities Skylines 2 has a problem. The in-game parks you can add don't add any life or vibrancy to the city. No cims are visible within the parks. An obvious issue, that hopefully will be addressed in the future. In the meantime, if you're the type that likes to build custom green spaces for your cities, and want to introduce some actual cim activity to them - I've got good news for you. You can actually use the in-game developer tools to add custom park areas. I walk you through how to do so in this video!

I'm of the same mind. At the very worst, it should be easy to expose in a custom mod! Either way, really looking forward to the launch of custom assets because this is going to be so much fun to design fully custom cities!

I think you also need to add hangout areas (not sure the exact label, but I think if you search hangout it should come up). That way they will sit on the grass and I think benches too

Would you like to make an island or district with pedestrian road only. Just public transport allowed

So you're saying create a district with only pedestrian roads and public transport? Zero cars in the entire district? I haven't done that in Cities Skylines 2... yet. I'd be open to trying it!

how do I get the little menu on the left of your screen with all of the dev tools?

You have to have developer tools enabled before you start your game. Add "-developerMode" to the Launch Options under Steam Properties when right clicking on the game. Then you can hit "Tab" or "Home" once your game is launched to open either dev tools, or add object menu, respectively. See the official documentation: cs2.paradoxwikis.com/Developer_mode

Have the weird issue that once I close the object menu by accident, pressing HOME won't open it up again... how do you get it back open?

Unfortunately, you'll need to restart the game. I had this problem as well until I realized that you need to hit HOME to both open and close. This will allow you to open it over and over again.
