How to: Turn your lawn mower engine into a Go Kart Motor & How to fix your engine without any tools

Sup guys and in this video I will show yall how to turn your lawn mower horizontally for a go kart, motorized bike ect.
I will also tell yall 4 ways that you can check why your engine isnt running without any expensive tools
- Timing
- Compression
- Spark
- The 4th one is just making sure the fuel gets to the engine
The motor I have is a Briggs & Stratton 3.75 horsepower Easy Pull

on the throttle thats the kill switch to the magneto so if that cable is touching the bottom or choke thatll kill the motor

Mikhail Andriushchenko yes i am using the motor for my go kart rn, all you need to change is the carburetor so the bowl is facing down(like how it originally was) and have to weld the thing to fling the oil everywhere

When you took the blade off was there anything else you had to take off as I'm building a go kart and when I took the blade off theres anouthing I go to get off do you possible know how I get that off and great vidoe

Alex Turner Yeah that thing was a pain to get off. You are going to have to use some source of heat to get it off, I put a candle right under it for a couple hours and then I was able to pull it right off with some gloves. And thanks bro

Baba5X-YT when you turn the motor keep the carburetor facing the same way when it was a lawn mower, second you have to weld a little metal piece so with less oil the engine will go faster

Hey guys i need some help. I have a engine that came off of a briggs and Stratton generator and i want to use the engine on a go-kart. I have it mounted on the kart but when i start the engine it runs at high RPM. how do i make it idle?

That is most likely an issue with the carburetor. From my experience there should be a screw(Philips) that you can turn to make it idle at higher or lower RPMs. You can look up a video/pictures on the carburetor you have to find it, or possibly get a new one

That welding part isn’t necessary. We just did it to help fling around the oil inside the motor and I’m pretty sure it fell off at one point😂

Russ Yeah you just have to turn the lawn mower engine so that the shaft is pointing the way you want it and watch the video to know what you have to turn and change within the motor

i just welded it on the bottom of the piston(where it wouldn’t hit anything when spinning) so that we didn’t have to fill the engine all the way up with oil so it didn’t have that much resistance with oil still getting everywhere

yeah that part was optional. it just lets it splash the oil around so in theory you can put less oil and it'll make it 'faster'

It would have helped if you didn't skim over the most important part, how to remove and weld what ever that was to make the whole thing work. You used tools for ever single thing you did including a welder, how are they NOT tools. I am impressed you figured this out but this video is pretty worthless.
