I've had 4 rounds of chemo. My mouth has ranged from being dry, gums and all around sore like plus can't taste much anymore. I wish I had more guidance about mouth issues and chemo. This channel has been helpful! You say things with so much knowledge and compassion. I really appreciate that.

Thank you for sharing your story and your kind words. We hope that this information has been helpful. One thing you could talk about with your team would be to get a compounded mixture of Benadryl: Lidocaine; and Mylanta (we call it BMX mouthwash). That may help. We hope that you start to feel better soon.I am sorry that you are experiencing these side-effects and I hope symptoms start to get better.

Breast cancer patients...were adv...to do dental treatment before chemo... can I knw...it's it ok...to do dental treatment /chk up... still in chemo period..?

If you need dental treatment during chemotherapy, let both your oncologist know you'll be getting treatment and let your dentist know that you're on chemotherapy. The best time to have your teeth cared for is when you are about to get your next treatment. This is when your blood counts are the highest.

I wonder if patients are informed about possible dental issues when they're confronted with BC treatment options - lumpectomy, mastectomy. Knowing all a treatment option entails no doubt would affect treatment choice. I don't think BC patiients are fully informed, so the information provided in this podcast will come as an unpleasant surprise to many.

We agree with you that there is so much information to share that it's likely that not everything is covered in every medical appointment. It's also the case that when we tell people absolutely everything, they hear only a fraction of what we say given the stress they are under and humans' ability to hear, process, and retain information. It's a balance.

Thanks for watching and your comment. Although we cannot say what is safe in a given person without being involved in your care, radiation therapy is generally very safe in the treatment of people with breast cancer.

May I ask ? When taking the test beforehand, did they tag the spot with a piece of metal ? Or even in surgery, to stop bleeding ? Is that normal ? Any information is helpful.

Thanks for your question. It sounds as if you may be asking about the placement of clips within the breast tissue at the time of surgery. Clips are placed for several reasons. They can, for example, help the radiation oncologist know exactly where the tumor was, which helps with treatment. Bleeding is stopped using other methods rather than with placement of a clip or clips.

Mam what can i do i have oral theraphy but my stomach is geting acidic and bone cancer help
@yerbba2 жыл бұрын
If I'm reading your comment correctly, you are on oral chemotherapy with bone metastases and are having a feeling of acid in your stomach. If this is the case, I would recommend you talk with your medical team or a pharmacist who specializes in cancer. It's important not to take certain medications with your cancer oral medication. I hope you feel better soon. There are a lot of options to help you feel better.
