Great analysis. Thank you! I am reading it now and found it confusing. This is helpful to understand what Faulkner was trying to say.

Thanks for this. I like your explanations and find them to be both entertaining and clarifying. I’ve been reading more classics since I’ve been out of college and this book has been a real struggle. When I finish part 4, I’ll make sure to watch the whole video.

I thought chapter 2 was Quentin’s narration. You said it was 3.

Fuck dude, the earth gets absorbed by the sun and you go on and on about Macbeth, nihilism ?! Cut me some slack! Yes, the Compson Family has a one way ticket to Palookaville! For me the depressing beauty of this novel, probably the greatest American novel, is in the narrative and the characters. It is not an easy read, I've read it and reread it in my lifetime and I get more out of it each time and it still has mysterys for me. What I've picked up in my last reread is that Jason Compson would be right at home in today's Republican Party.

You are right about Jason! He would've been chairman of county Republicans. And yeah, great book.

I apologize but at 18:20, I should have said that Quentin's narrative comprises Chapter 2, not 3.
