Good overall information. When using the "Background app" clear cache first then close the app in question. The background app is a solid app that everyone needs to use.

Idk if you fixed it but try a different cable/brick. It could also be a weak power source

Thank you so much, I was stuck on the blank screen. I pulled the stick out the port but that didn't work I then pushed down the select and play buttons and it worked!!!!!!

My 4K fire stick freezes almost everyday, twice today so far. I unplug the USB cable from the stick and plug it back in. It's getting tiresome...😤

Any suggestions on why my only stuck going up I press the bottom button and won't go down Amazon tech couldn't help me either. We tried so many different ways that my remote now what work.

My fire stick has been on " Optimizing system storage and applications"...for almost 18 hours now. Says will take 10 minutes. How do I get it to stop this and actually work? Worked fine all day yesterday. Went to switch apps and it went to this screen. Now I can't get it to stop. It just restarts the process all over again when done. WTH do I do? I'm so confused...

Video does not help if a brand new firestick shows no connection in the TV. And yes I have tried all the hdmi ports. A second stick I have had for some time wirks fine.

Yep my 2nd gen 4k box is the same after I did a factory reset then signed into my account the cube rebooted & now sticks at that screen. Nothing ive tried has worked so looks like I'll have to contact Amazon as message says to on error page, problem there is I've yet to jear of anyone being helped by them, especially when device is way past warranty period. Will update if any luck, if no update then it's due to no luck finding a fix

Rich, my Fire Stick is really weird. 1. I can power the TV on....no problem 2. I can turn the volume up and down. 3. But I can't turn on ANY of the apps or settings on the TV with the Fire Stick. What could be the problem???
