When I press restore or update nothing happens, does that mean the computer is not reading my iPad?? Or is my iPad too old. I can press eject iPad but when I tried to press restore it doesn’t do anything

You can actually fix it by updating in iTunes instead which will keep the data and give you more time to wait till you can put it your passcode again. And if you don’t remember it then you’ll have to restore it
