I bought my Motorola from Motorola's website. It is unlocked. It was $100 off MSRP and less than the cheapest price I saw on Amazon. My previous phone I bought also unlocked. The best thing is they don't have the carrier's bloatware on them.

I did it was was told to insert the other carrier's sim card and enter a code they sent me to unlock it. So it is not unlocked until I change carriers and enter the other sim card?

It shouldn't, but it might not receive proper updates, though android phones might suffer from that more than iphones, so it shouldn't be a security risk

"Lock" in this situation is unlocking the ability to use other providers. Your vulnerabilities are going to be there regardless of your provider if you find the wrong web page or allow an intruder in by installing malware on accident. Anti-virus protection and vpn for public wifi will help with security vulnerability as well as making sure your phones OS is up to date by visiting the manufacturer website from month to month if you switch providers on a device.

Mine was active for only 2 weeks. I cancel att paid the phone. Waited 24 hrs after canceling, did exactly what the video said. ATT approved my request to unlock the phone in lest then 5 minutes.

I don't think you can, it was preet for art, so it will always show the logo, i had a metro phone unlocked and switched to att it always showed the logo, same with a T-Mobile phone, if it isn't straight from the factory it'll show the preset logo

I did all this and they never sent an email . Then I tried to do it again and they said I already sent request and I need to wait 24 hrs .
