You've reminded me of jeans when I was an upcycling teen.... which was way before there was a word to describe changing up our clothes! Living in a tropical, rural beach community, we had to go up mauka (into the mountains) in (paniolo) cowboy country to buy jeans at the feed store. They were def 100% cotton and stiff, stiff, stiff. I'd take them out to the rocks in the little cove in front of the old tin roof house I grew up in and rub, and rub and rub them on the rocks w the salt water running over them! Didn't drag them behind a truck for miles like I've heard people talk about. Plus, they were all men's jeans and the waist was always too big so I tried all sorts of ways to take them in..... eventually giving up on trying to use the side seams but instead, avoiding the problematic side rivets, I'd take in from a spot between the back pocket and the side seam... Remove the waistband in that area, take in the jean from that side/back area easing into the high hip. Then take in the waistband where the belt loop was (usually on or near the original side seam), press and attach waistband back onto the jeans and replace the belt loop over the new attachment seam... ... still use that method today and the seam almost disappears when it's right alongside the original side seam. There is no perfect but I've found this method useful and if done well, attractive. Funny how we figured these things out.... out of necessity!

This is nicely done. Seems simple, maybe i can do it. You look great in the maxi length. Why leave that 'j' shaped overlap of fabric from the crotch in the front and the back? Why not cut it off to a straight line? I've only seen someone cut it off once but i don't know why everyone leaves it there. Maybe structure strength?

Thank you!! yeah I thought about it. Not too lat to make changes though. I have some ideas..... as always

You didn’t want the back seam crouch curve. I get it. It probably would have pickled in the back.

Yeah I thought about that too. There are still options. I’ve been known to upcycle an upcycle LOL!!😂
