How to Update and pach for maps and firmware :
1. Brun both images at LOW SPEED (2x-4x)
2. Turn ignition on and make sure there are no power supply interruptions (you can start the engine to have good current)
3. Press NAV button on your unit and put VWMFD2DVDEU0030.iso into MFD drive it will start to update the firmware
- THIS MAY TAKE UP TO 30-40 MINUTES -
4. after update done press NAV again and put the UNLOCK CD.
unlocking takes just a few seconds the screen will show progress bar in a loop but once it completes
single cycle it is safe to remove the disk from unit.
Radio, Navigation System, Update Programming
Various malfunctions on radio-navigation system MFD2 DVD:
- Satellite Preset Loss
- Increased closed-circuit current
- Empty map
- First part of navigation voice output missing
- Display in dash insert is not completely deleted
- No sound after engine start (audio CD operation) :
-That was my problem. the sound was cut off completely-
- No operation after engine start possible
- Refresh station list (satellite radio) more than normal
- Radio lock up problems
Here are the differences between the different versions of the original MFD2 GPS.
This is only for information, there may be errors (a priori not):
- 1T0 035 194 A (1K0 ...) - CD Audio CD Navi TMC,
- 1T0 035 194 B (1K0 ...) - CD Audio CD Navi TMC,
- 1T0 035 194 C (1K0 ...) - CD Audio CD Navi TMC,
- 1T0 035 194 D (1K0 ...) - CD Audio CD Navi TMC 2 btn round chrome,
- 1T0 035 198 A (1K0 ...) - DVD Navi only TMC,
- 1T0 035 198 B (1K0 ...) - DVD Navi only CD Audio TMC,
- 1T0 035 198 C (1K0 ...) - DVD Navi only CD Audio MP3 TMC 2 round buttons and all btns of low chrome.

Maps are very easy to install, just download the iso file and burn it on a DVD with PowerIso or Nero, you easy and free get this programs from the internet. Once completed insert in your car navigation and press nav button. Now wait until complete.
