F7 has changed my way of thinking , thank you verymuch, but I feel that OTA update is similar to an android mobile phone or a tablet software update with many functional changes. Is android OS recommended for Automotive applications ??

Yes, OTA update for an ECU (when using redundant storage) is very similar to a smartphone operating system update. Android OS may be used in some limited cases (such as infotainment systems); however, it is not suited to the hard real-time control that ECUs perform. Use of a given platform should be the result of careful decisions and analysis about the level of performance and type of behaviour(s) needed to meet security and safety concerns, and other requirements.
