In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Hello, Do one echomap download for all Garmin series? If so, can you use the same SD card for updating the 93sv then remove it and put it in the 106sv and download the same??

Hey Scott I have a 126 xsv echo map ultra I use it mainly for live scope I’m not happy with the resolutions I at a lot of times can’t see my bait real well I’ve tried everything how much better do you think the 8612 would be I notice it has a hole lot more pixels

From what I have read the card must be between 8gb and 32gb, any larger or smaller will not work. Again that is just what I have read, I will be updating my unit for the first time this weekend.

Thank you for the How to... I haven't had an issue before in doing an update, until now. I have a GPSMAP 1242xsv. I followed the instructions and I've redone the dowload 3 times, the Extract 3 times and Copy2Card 3 times (this step twice to a standard 32GB SD card and once to a Micro 32gb SD card with adapter) to no avail. I insert the card with the unit powered on and it recognizes Data Slot only. It does not show a "Software updates" box at the top. What am I doing wrong?

Try format your sd card before you use the card. We had this problem updating before and this solved the problem.
