Hey boss. Licensed automotive mechanic here, good trick with it comes to the banjo bolts. After they are torqued, give the bolt head a good tap without 8oz hammer and re torque. You will be surprised, that tap compressed the copper washers fully and now you can tighten to the final spec

Would make a mess, but you wouldn't destroy anything. Brake fluid is pure crap though, make sure to dispose it properly and try to don't get it on your skin or anything else.

Are those spiegler lines? If so be careful with those banjos. The stock spec for my CBR1000RR was 25 lb-ft and since the instructions said torque to factory spec that’s what I did. Well the speigler banjos cracked straight in half at that torque. I upgraded to some stainless banjos over those aluminum ones included in the kit.
@adobomoto
@adobomoto Жыл бұрын
They are speigler. The packaging says 13-15ftlbs bro 😂
@HighGrade_FireBlade
@HighGrade_FireBlade Жыл бұрын
@@adobomoto I’m not doubting yours says that but they must have revised the instructions. I got mine 3.5 years ago and just looked at the old clamshell and the instructions read “Double check the line routing and torque all fittings and banjo bolts to manufacturers recommendation.” Doesn’t denote a torque spec anywhere. I have no reason the question the quality of the lines themselves, but from what I observed seeing a cross section of the cracked banjo, they are made with extremely porous, low density pot metal.
