Awesome video, clear instructions, thanks much! One positive feedback: once you've removed the cover it would have helped me if you zoomed in to frame the PC, so just a little. Thanks again!

If I add the second ssd Drive instead of just replacing the one, Do I need to format it or install windows to it at all?
@uFixTek9 сағат бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, if you just added an extra SSD, you can use it to install games and store files as extra storage. However, if you want to install a second Windows operating system on it, you can do that too. If you want to use it as secondary storage, once the SSD is installed and you are in Windows, you need to head to "Disk Management" by pressing the Windows key and X on the keyboard and selecting "Disk Management." Locate the new SSD (it will be marked in black), right-click on it, and select "Create Volume." Then click "Next" through each step. Once you're done, the new drive will appear on your computer alongside Drive C. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

Hi, I would like to upgrade my Dell G15 5511 model. Is Samsung 990 Evo/Evo Plus 2TB variant is supported by the system? Can you please say which one is compatible with good speed?
@uFixTekАй бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, yes they are 100% supported with your model, any brand nvme you can place gen 3 or gen4 and it will work just fine.
@dioncassius43484 ай бұрын
Hello.. I'm interested if a Samsung 990 EVO, 1TB, PCIe Gen4 ×4 NVMe can work as a replacement for the boot drive.. if the processor is not too old and I might have compatibility issues there. And if it works.. it is just plug and play or you need some software for setup. Thank you! (As an additional info my present boot drive still works enough to make an image out of it - I got a warning: reliability is degraded)
@uFixTek4 ай бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, sure, you can use it, and it will work fine. You can place the NVMe in the second slot, boot into Windows normally, and then download a cloning program like Macrium Reflect to clone the main drive onto the second drive. After that, open the laptop, remove the old NVMe, and place the new one in the old slot. Remember, you should purchase the cloning program; don't look for it on Pirate Bay or any other torrent sites that offer the program for free that will do the job. You should support the company. 🙂 Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

@@uFixTek Thank you very much for your answer. The 990 Evo is on the way.. will probably reach me tomorrow. I was a bit concerned about a possible incompatibility for the use of this SSD as my bootable one since the processor is the 11800h which is a bit older now. I will get to it tomorrow evening and will let you know how it went :). All the best!

It's my pleasure my friend. Zero issues of compatibility; everything will work as it should.
@dioncassius43483 ай бұрын
@@uFixTek Did everything as you suggested and it worked just fine, sadly the 990 EVO is longer than the Adata I had previously and I cannot clip it with a bolt at the other end. It was much easier and faster than what I planned previously.. making a restore image with windows on a usb drive and installing windows on the 990 Evo and then restoring everything later. Thanks again for the help!

can I move the original storage to slot 2 and use a 2 tb on slot 1?
@uFixTek4 ай бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, Sure you can without any issues.
@tommysim28404 ай бұрын
@@uFixTek um another questions is does it matter if I run windows from the original ssd when put in slot 2 so I don't have to delete everything and just add the 2 tb in slot 1? I read it's better to run the windows on the faster ssd. Or should I just delete everything on the orginal ssd. And when installing windows do I have both ssd plugged in?
@uFixTek4 ай бұрын
I recommend placing the good quality NVMe in slot one and doing a fresh Windows install on the new NVMe from a USB (it’s super fast, 5 minutes tops). Then, do a few Windows updates, and you’re set to go. Once Windows is installed, you can power down, plug in the second NVMe (the old one), and format it to use as secondary storage. That is the recommended process. However, if you want to keep the main SSD with Windows and install the second NVMe, you can do it without any complications.

Hey, I have the same laptop as you and wanted to ask If I need a heatsink for my M.2 2280 ssd
@uFixTek8 ай бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, absolutely NO, you don't need it, if you placing an ssd over 2TB then sure get one. but up to 2TB no need for one. there is a better chance that your motherboard will fail 1st before the ssd damages because of over heating. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

i tried exactly but stock nvme not detected after inserting in slot 2. Later again reinserted in slot 1 same issue. Could you please tell what went wrong?.
@uFixTek Жыл бұрын
did you power off the laptop when you removed it? also when you insert the nvme make sure it is all the way inside the connector and the screw hole does match perfectly. there is no especial option or configuration to make the issue fix, it is hardware sided
