Given SRAM already has the AXS app, they should really be able to transfer profiles between Flight Attendant units without having to physically swap the device.

I was talking to them about that today. Like when the controllers arrive I’m gonna get two more so I don’t have to constantly swap them around. They told me they would look into something like that.

I would but they won’t release flight attendant for their bike. I don’t think it’s worth looking at until you can buy it with flight attendant. Especially compared to bikes that have the option available. I’ve been asking them weekly and it’s kinda frustrating that they don’t have the option yet.

@bicyclestation - for the rear shock, how far down does that lock control unit hang down? I am considering upgrading my 2023 BMC Fourstroke 01 FRS build to flight attendant (190x45), but I am worried I will lose access to my second water bottle cage and I haven't found dimensions posted anywhere so far.

Great video. Can you use Flight Attendant with power-meter pedals instead of the a power-meter crankset?

Just asked my sram guy about this. The power meter has to be an Axs power meter for it to connect to the fork. The quarq spider or spindles are the only options currently.

I thought you had FA on both a Mach 4 SL and an Epic 8. I currently have a Mach 4 SL and an Epic Evo 7. The Epic Evo 7 desperately NEEDS FA but the Mach 4 SL really doesn’t. Can’t wait to try it!

The zfs has a bit more race feel then the epic. But the epic is more well rounded.

Please consider doing a Flight Attendent "fork only" video on a Cervelo ZHT for a fun comparison. In essence your isolating the "Flight Attendent Effect" away from a total system to the nose of the bike only. But keep the power meter and transmission in play . Would be interested to see if the flight Attendent is also of value on a lightweight hardtail.

I think any bike. Specialized specifically is a good candidate due to the low anti squat. Any bike that’s got a squishy rear end. But seriously I think it’s worthwhile on any bike.

I can’t find the answer anywhere. I have a Top Fuel Gen 4 and want to buy flight attendant Sid and a Sid flight attendant shock in a 185x50 which they make. I have a xx power meter crank on as well. What’s stopping me from putting these parts on my top fuel if everything is the same size as stock. Online I keep seeing that you should only install on upgrade compatible frames. But if everything is the same size and I have all parts, why couldn’t I?

I bought a Cervelo ZFS from my Lbs recently strictly because of the value. It’s an amazing machine and way more bike than you pay for. To upgrade it to FA, do you use the Santa Cruz “version” shox and damper or is there now a Cervelo FA sku/part number?

I asked them. I don’t think it even makes sense for the bike. Flight attendant works really well for bigger travel bikes. The WC is always stiff and designed to only open when it takes a hit.

I was thinking just the fork replacing the brain. The FA fork has been run by a few World Cup Pro’s on hard tails & the Epic WC. RS says it won’t work though 😂

Nope, you need either a Quarq (which is sram) power meter, or their pedal sensor. But you wont get the full benefit without a power meter, since it learns your power output, and tailors how the suspension works/reacts based on your current power. I have the same specialized Jesse has with flight attendant, and its a gamechanger.

You can run a 104bcd quarq powermeter with a xtr chainring from wolftooth. I have that setup on one of my bikes.

@@larrysprock That might work - But, it still most likely wont work 100% - Since it uses the sram derailleur for data/gear info to adjust the suspension as well. Dont know if it will just work "worse" - Or not at all, if the derailleur is a pre-requisite for it working. Dont think anyone has tested yet
