Wow. FCP has changed over the last 15 years. It never used to be this complicated. All you had to do was export it to your storage drive as a single file. I can do that right now with Sony Vegas Pro. Sheesh.
@StupidRaisins Жыл бұрын
We humans are complex beings.
@Dollectable_Dreams6 ай бұрын
I think complexity comes from the fact that there are a million options in fcp and when you have many options things become more complicated for all of these to come and work together.

Hi, I really like your clear explanation. I am using FCP for the first time and switched from IMovie to FCP for video editing. As I am not familiar with FCP nor do I know anything about it. It took me a month to edit a 7 minute video. But I’m confident I will catch up because that’s how I learned iMovie editing. Somehow I managed to catch up editing almost 40 videos. I edited my 1st video and your instructions above are helpful. However, I see that there is a warning above the resolution: “KZbin format: using an 8-bit codec with HDR content may affect video quality. I’m stuck don’t know what to do. Can you pls help. Thx or if u hv any video then u can share the link. For some reason file cannot be saved, tried few times. I’m using Mac. Share Failed”

Hello! Good tutorial! I just uploaded a video to youtube and its a blurry mess! I followed all the steps for 1080p but I heard you have to trick KZbin in order to get a higher resolution. I cant figure out how to tell FCP that it needs to be rendered higher than 1080p, even though IT IS 1080p. Would that compressor App help me to do that? Am I wrong in my approach? Thank you!!

Following this video should be enough for KZbin. You don't need to trick KZbin. How does the video look after you export it from FCP?

@@StupidRaisins Thank you for the quick reply!! I am also curious, I am new to youtube and recorded my video on an iphone 14 pro max in 1080p at 30fps, since I recorded in a lower quality setting, would you still recommend getting compressor to post my video in 4k? Or should i just use 1080p this time? I appreciate your help!
@StupidRaisinsАй бұрын
No, you don't need Compressor. Just upload as 1080p this time. Even when you record at 4K you don't need Compressor to post your video. Just use the settings I show at 1:22.

@@StupidRaisins my exports only show 1080 or 4K exports on Final Cut Pro. I don’t have an option to export at 1440p which is what my Video is recorded at for gaming What I did is I simply export at 4K now and then use hand brake to convert it back to 1440p It’s a simple enough work around but still it’s very annoying that Apple doesn’t make this easier.

how do you upload multiple file formats from FCP to youtube like 720,480, .mp4, .mkv?

You can change your resolution in the share window when exporting. For .mp4 select Computer under settings. I don't think you can export .mkv from FCP.

What is missing in this video (and the previous of same topic) is, what the consequences are when not following the recommendation and upload higher bitrate to KZbin (the why question). Clearly one can easily upload higher bitrate video to KZbin.
@StupidRaisins Жыл бұрын
It will be a bigger file and take longer to upload.
@EverydayRoadster Жыл бұрын
@@StupidRaisins Taken the time it takes to process the video locally and extra storage required, upload time sounds not reasonable. My observation though is, that KZbin side processing is skipped, in case the criteria are met. This shows faster turnaround time after upload and theoretically should provide one with better control over video quality, though the difference in quality seems to be neglectable in most circumstances.
