I have purchased a few denim pieces from the thrift store that I really liked, that were too small. I have made a few of them larger, but used the side seam. I'm going to try it with the front addition.

@@illestj3990 take the seam at the side out add denim or camouflage or a tie from the waist to wherever you need the added material. You can add it all the way down if you want. Also elastic waist bands from old clothes like skirts to the sides so that I have more stretch in the waist.

I wish I could give you a dozen likes for this upcycle! I can't tell you how often people have given me their kids old clothes "...because you are so tiny!" I'm petite, but haven't been THAT tiny since I was a kid myself! If I like the fabric, or want to snatch the buttons, I keep it. Otherwise, I donate what I don't want for scraps. I have shorts I have had many years that are so comfortable but don't fit my waste. They are striped but I don't like side stripes. Thought I was going to make an exception with these shorts and have a stripe on the side. Haven't been able to convince myself that I would actually wear them with side stripes so I just stare at them on the shelf. Thanks to your video, I am going to be wearing those shorts again this week! Yesss!

Omgosh I’m feeling incredibly blessed and excited to have found you and your amazing channel! In Canada we’ve lived through pretty much 2 years of lockdown with brief breaks sporadically. Locked at home with 3 kids (who I love beyond words to explain) no possible escape or personal/social interactions and no income during this period I have gained an obscene amount of weight! No longer had money to buy healthy nutritious fresh ingredients so had to rely on cheap prepackaged everything paired with new mental health struggles when I somehow decided to eat my feelings. Now things are definitely improving, in I hazard to say post pandemic Canada, but still need to deal with all the issues that time period caused. Although now back to having income the debt is soul crushing and literally no clothing I own comes close to being able to be pulled up let alone fitting. Due to massive pandemic debt I can’t even afford donation or thrift store items of clothing. After watching this awesome video my eyes are opened for the first time to possibilities I could never have dreamed of before! Wish I had better words than to thank you. I sincerely and wholeheartedly appreciate your personality, vision, skillset, thoughtfulness, kindness and willingness to show the world all of this. Thank you. ❤️ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦

You just earned a new subscriber, Miss Angelina! I absolutely love you and your flow. I also like the fact that you don't internalize your thought process while you're working on each step. Those little bits of wisdom often go overlooked during the various steps and processes but I think they're important to help us understand the "what if's" and "why's" we might encounter when working on our own pieces. I also like that you've got some flavor to your style! I was thinking you were gonna be rockin them like that when you decided to only sew down so far down in the front. They turned out to be a classy casual that can fit whatever mood you're aiming for. Very nice, thank you! Can't wait to watch more!

Way to save the shrunken jeans!!! I can also see this being used to create a pair of the on-trend wide-legged jeans that I'm seeing everywhere, but using another pair of jeans (including waistband section). Maybe even with seam edges showing, which is a detail I remember from some of your jeans upcycling videos from years past 😀. So. Many. Options! I bought a fabulous pair of button-up Levi's from the thrift store sometime earlier this year, and last week, tried them on...yeah, not happening 😂. It did inspire me to re-asses my diet and exercise routine, so I'm going to try that first before I either get rid of them or do something more drastic. You are such a great source of inspiration, Angelina 💕 - stay safe!
