What I need to know is does one boil the water together with the food from the very beginning. ? Or wait till the water boils before i place the food to be cooked ? Lacking this the basic step i do not dare use my bamboo steamer! Thank you.

-Bring the wok to a boil - when boiling then turn down the heat slightly - then place on steamer Happy cooking!
