We all have to learn how to adult at some point in our lives. In fact, most of us are always learning how to adult, a little bit more each day. At least we have the benefit of having online resources to help us. A lot of people in previous generations either had to just figure it out on their own or actually ask someone and risk embarrassing themselves. lol. But don't be fooled, nobody is born knowing all these random little things.

I also want to know the use of the little cuts.
@scaper86 жыл бұрын
I can't tell on his, but on mine it's just one cut-out flap (much smaller than the one for the checks themselves), I think it's to hold back pages on the register so you can quickly find you place to record transactions easily.
@scaper86 жыл бұрын
What I want to know is why they designed the register so that it is upside-down compared to the checks?!
@elmergomez68356 жыл бұрын
scaper8 instead of putting the back page of the register in the flap, you can just put the cover page in the flap and then it will no longer be upside down, and you will see the yearly calendar Everytime you open the checkbook.

Basic money handling and financial skills _should_ be part of a standard high school curriculum. I truly can't fathom why it isn't. As to our parents should, well maybe, but I think part of schooling is to prepare us for the adult world. And I know several parents that never learned themselves because it was never taught! They can't be expected to teach us what they themselves were never told.

Ezekiel Elizondo I think it's to hold the register so it doesn't flap around when writing a check.

So, do you put the register in so you have to turn the checkbook cover around to write in it or do you put it in so you can write in it the same direction as you write your checks? (Sorry if this is a confusing question)
@benwynkoop19 жыл бұрын
Jodie McDonough You write on the checks when your checkbook is in the cover the same as you would write in a checkbook without being in the cover. Does this answer your question?
@sheilasmith86119 жыл бұрын
Jodie McDonough Just a note to you and anyone who is confused that it makes life a lot easier if you put the FIRST page of the register into the plastic sleeve instead of the LAST page. (In the video it is the last page that is put in the plastic sleeve.) This means that upon opening your checkbook you will see your check on the bottom and above it the calendar. After you are done writing the check, you flip the pages of the register down until you get to the page you are on and fill out the check information. If you do it this way, you can write on both the check and the register in the same direction without having to flip the checkbook around. I mean, if you like to flip the book around, more power to you, but this has always made it faster for me.

I put my register in the other way (top flap into the cover), this way the register and check is facing the same way when I open the booklet. The plastic flap on the top then holds the completed pages of the registry. That way for me, the calendar is always visible when I'm writing the check.
