This is what so many other DIY videos should be like. Most are poorly edited and, on average, are much longer (boring, time-wasting) than they need to be.

Thanks for the tutorial on using the drain auger. My small hand plunger is no longer keeping the bathroom sink drain flowing free so I'll go at it with an auger, based on the class you just taught. I see that you also know what are the best gloves money can buy for general purpose use. For anyone reading, his gloves are Mechanix Fast-Fit Material 4X gloves. I've been wearing them every day at work for a few years now. They fit great, feel great when wearing, are insanely durable, and just work great for general purposes. I can't say enough good about them, so I always recommend them when the subject comes up.

Is there some way to attach something to the tip to make the diameter larger? I have encountered a huge clog of thick goey grey matter that allowed the 1/4 inch snake to pass through but resealed after pulling the snake out. Water would not flow. Eventually, I had to cut the pipe and I used a shop vac to suction out the clog. It was a long turd of goey grey matter at least two or three feet long.

Mine sink pipe (4:10) has 4 angles and the last is like a 90 degree bent, can't turn pass the last 1. Any suggestions? I really don't want to cut the plastic (PCV) pipe. The plumber should be shot for doing a half passed job when this house was built. All 9 sinks have no shutoff valves. To make thing worst, main shutoff valve in the basement has corrosion & won't turns. Anyone know how to get to outside electronic water shutoff valve (buried under ground)?

Cool man! My two bathroom drains and kitchen sinks always tend to get clogged up. My wife tells me always when this happens, "Call Mike to fix it". Mike comes over, ten minutes later, he has his hand extended out for his $30.00. I pay him his cash and off he goes! Every three months or so, I'm paying Mike between $30 and $40 (if more than one sink). NOT ANYMORE!!! I'm going today, to buy me that rigid snake and unstop my sink (s). Thanks for the tips!

Do you think the Drain X Auger would clear an 18 foot pvc pipe in my backyard that is used for drainage to a ditch? Usually you can look through one end and see daylight, problem this year is some critter filled half of it with dirt and used it for a home. I need something to run straight through the pipe and clear the dirt out. Thx!!!
@PROSDIY3 жыл бұрын
The auger is going to have a tough time going through dirt. I would probably try a garden hose and if that didn't work, I'd use a pressure washer with a jet tip. That would clear it out. Amazon affiliate link for jet tip: amzn.to/3texgWz

how to turn the auto feed Brass craft power auto feed drum auger bc 7060?
@gardengrower7633 Жыл бұрын
turn the black knob on the end closest to the auger fully clockwise. Then, the auger can be fed manually by crank or a power drill can initiate forward movement if attached. If the knob is loosened a bit, it won't autofeed, but can be pulled out more length manually.

How do I get the snake to go down the wall instead of up the wall?
@PROSDIY3 жыл бұрын
They make augers with a heads that are called drop heads. These have a pivot on the end which will want them to drop downwards and are the best for plumbing situations where the auger wants to go upwards instead of down. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question.

Hmmm, can't decide what I should get? Should i get the RIDGID that has the trigger to autofeed the auger but it is only 25 feet or should I get the DrainX that is 50 feet but no trigger to autofeed but a stupid screw that you need to screw & unscrew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want the RIDGID for it's autofeed function but scared my clog could be more than 25 feet away! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF doesn't RIDGID make an auger that is 50 feet??!!!!!!!

you are supposed to release the trigger when you hit resistance, not keep holding it.
